| Personal History | Ayana has always been focused on what she wants. Born and raised on Earth, North America, in the city of Houston, she always was a bit of a tomboy, her interests leaning towards physical activities and tactical matters more than anything else. Despite that, she showed early on to be creatively gifted and initially expressed that via music. As she got older she became more and more interested in space and the idea of serving the Federation, and her means of doing so would be through StarFleet. Her family attempted to talk her out of it, but she would not be deterred. The Dominion War was in full swing when she entered the Academy. She worked hard and was recognized as an excellent student and potential officer. She was made a member of Red Squad and given the opportunity to learn advanced tactics and starship operations aboard the new Academy vessel, the USS Valiant. She was called away on personal matters before the Valiant went missing and was ultimately destroyed. Because of her knowledge she was given the opportunity to serve aboard the USS Sao Paulo for several missions, ultimately earning herself a battlefield commission to ensign. She followed the Sao Paulo to Deep Space Nine as a member of its crew, remaining even after the ship was renamed to Defiant. She remained a tactical officer aboard the Defiant even after the war ended, serving an additional two years before being transferred to the USS Andromeda. She served with distinction and earned herself a promotion while aboard the Andromeda, but she wanted a more challenging assignment and was ultimately moved to the USS Washington where she remains to this day. |
