Personality & Traits

General Overview A gifted scientific mind that struggles outside of that area. Lacking tact and social skills, he often rubs others the wrong way, though he rarely realizes he has. Dedicated to his work, he is rarely found outside his lab or his quarters.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths:
Incredibly analytical mind. A unique gift for understanding the complexities of science and the interconnections between concepts. Very good at dissecting a problem into component parts and developing a plan for solving each part individually.

Weaknesses:
Completely underdeveloped social skill set. Has a disdain for being around most people, and dreads being forced into social situations. Has a poor ability to read people's emotions and true meanings/intentions. Believes there is a scientific solution to every problem and overlooks emotional elements completely. Often hurts people's feelings without intention and without knowing.
Ambitions To make a noteworthy contribution to science and help advance the knowledge of humanity. To protect the sanctity of science with military and burecratic environments.
Hobbies & Interests A fan of classical painting from human and alien history alike. He loves studying the techniques used by the greatest painters from all civilizations. He also is an accomplished painter himself having spent decade mastering techniques from across the galaxy. While technically proficient, he is stymied by his own personality. Like a robot, he can master the technical aspects but is unable to impart deep emotion into his artwork.

Personal History Connor was born on a frontier colony operating on the far reaches of Starfleet's reach. Because of his personality, his parents quickly saw that such a fairly lawless environment was too dangerous a place for him to grow up in. They sheltered him for as long as they could. Connor grew up locked up with his computer and science toys from a very early age. It suited him well.

When Connor was 16, a deadly alien virus was brought into the spaceport via some illegal trade cargo. The virus wiped out nearly half of the population in the colony in less than a month. It also killed both his parents and his sister. Such an event brought a team of Starfleet scientists. Amid Connor's grief, he found a cause and did everything he could to assist the science team. One of the lead virologists noticed Connor's exceptional acumen for the scientific method and also understood his situation as an orphan. He spoke to his wife and agreed to act as Connor's legal guardian until he was old enough to enter Starfleet Academy. Connor finished growing up on board a Starfleet science vessel, the USS Biko, living with a scientist.

Connor entered the academy and was a star in the departments of the sciences from his first year. Though struggling immensely in the physical areas of training, and hating most of the other parts of the academy, the access to the sciences he was granted made up for all of that. He plowed his way through 4 years of exemplary scientific achievement that allowed his other weaknesses to be overlooked.
Service Record Upon graduating the academy, on special request, Connor was assigned to the USS Biko. He served under his 'father' (as he looked upon his guardian as now) for 2 years until under emergency request he was transferred to the USS Washington.
