A brief history of the Ojnas.

50,000 earth years ago in a system of six planets now deep within Tholian territory, the Ojnas came into being. Only two of these planets fell within what scientists call the golden zone, the zone in which life can start and grow. 20,000 years ago two tribes, the Mo-kai and the San Kee became the forefathers of the Ojnas and on the two planets began building the civilizations which would turn into the Ojnas Republic, some 18,000 years later, this Republic grew and made contact with other species for the next 2,000 years. Then some 5,000 years ago contact was made with a species which would be their downfall, The Dominion and then the Founders were contacted after a Ojnas vessel found a wormhole to what the Ojnas called a new galaxy. Dominion soldiers, the Tholes traversed the wormhole and settled in what was to become home to the Gorn.

For close to a thousand years peace prevailed, then from nowhere the Gorn appeared, attacks on Ojnas ships and planets followed. The Tholes it seemed were here to stay, and it became clear it was they who created the Gorn by Gene and DNA manipulation. But the Ojnas fought back and then the Founders forced the Tholes to continue their experiments on the Gorn, the Tholes decided to up the action. A new more aggressive creature was created by the Tholes called the Jem'Hadar, the Gorn now found themselves being attacked by their former masters. To aid the destruction of the Ojnas the Tholes released a deadly biological attack, millions of Ojnas died and planets simply fell undefended to the Tholes including their home worlds. The Gorn forced the Jem'Hadar back through the wormhole after many fierce battles but the damage was done, despite the Gorn destroying all knowledge and manufacturing plants for making Jem'Hadar the Tholes now controlled most of the old Republic. What was left of the Ojnas now created vast generational ships and quite simply climbed aboard them and departed for deep space with what knowledge they had retained, the Gorn fought and forced the Tholes out of their territory and so 3,500 years ago the Tholian now stood where once Ojnas had done so.

The old political system of the Ojnas The first is the Grand Council, this controls all of the Military and Political life. This political arm later took over all Governmental running of the Ojnas, after a short but bloody civil war between rival Grand Clans/Houses. The Grand Council is made up of members from each of the Grand Clans/Houses, a few of the lower Clans now also sit on the Council this was a demand the Federation made once the civil war ended. The second is The Council of Elders. They control the religious part of Ojnas life, which is a very large part of life. They also control the P'som Tee, an offensive force similar to the Romulan Tal Shiar. It is this arm of Government which was later swept away during the civil war, its lose actually aided the Ojnas in their dealing with both the Federation and the Tholians. The P'Som Tee were also disbanded and their self contained fleet added to the Ojnas Republican Fleet.
