Happy 60th Star Trek!

On this day, September 8, 1966 the debut of the original Star Trek with the TOS crew we have always loved came on and changed the world forever. Capt Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov gave us 3 seasons worth of missions in which we saw Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future with humanity boldly going into the final frontier.

I wasn't around personally to see TOS air originally, but I watched it in reruns with my family as a child. My father in particular liked TOS, particularly Kirk and Scotty. I think we can all find someone or something about TOS that we identify with.

For me, TOS is not the best of Star Trek, but it was still the first and it will forever hold a place in my heart. Those who know me are aware that I will always be a DS9 fan first and foremost.
