Sitting looking at one of her favourite books Callie was engrossed in it, so much so she didn’t notice the doors open and Eislyn arrive. It was only when a shadow fell over her that she looked up from the PADD.

"Hello Callie, How are you feeling?" Eislyn asked with a sweetness in her voice, along with genuine concern.

“Hello Eislyn” Callie offered a brief smile. “To be honest I would say fine, but we both know that’s far from the truth.” She put her book down. “Please sit.”

"Well, all things considered you seem to be doing wonderful. Has Jon been able to visit with you?"

Callie smiled more warmly thinking about Jon. “Yes, he has. He gives me all the strength I need. I just...can’t help...” she paused massaging her temples.

"Everything alright?" questioned Eislyn.

“Sorry Counselor, Callie isn’t here right now” Lia smiled. “I’m afraid she’s finding it far too difficult to face up to what happened. So now there’s me! I’m Lia, T’Vall’s wife.”

Eislyn was concerned. This was not something encountered very often. She tried to remain as detached as possible. "Lia? So you are the other personality that has formed. I wondered when we might meet. You say Callie is finding it difficult to face up to what happened. What exactly do you believe you are protecting her from?"

“Protecting?” Lia shook her head. “I’m not protecting her from anything. My husband began my existence all those years ago when we were at the Academy, but of course Callie didn’t remember. Now she knows everything and we are now one...or should I say two?”

"Interesting that you consider a man who abused you to be a person you love enough to call your husband. The fact that Callie didn't remember it as you say shows that she wished to at the very least repress that pain, a pain that you seem to represent."

Lia shrugged her shoulders. “Have you stopped to think that perhaps Callie enjoyed what T’Vall did? That maybe she was feeling something for him too? That she now can’t face it?”

Eislyn smiled. It was the first misstep by this Lia personality. "Actually, yes. And I know for a fact that wasn't the case. She considered him an acquaintance from her time at the Academy, nothing more. She loved and still loves her husband Jon. I now know where you come from, what you represent. Your a manifestation of the physical and psychological abuse that T'Vall inflicted upon Callie, the part of her that essentially fell victim to Stockholm syndrome. Thank you very much. I know exactly how to deal with you now."

Lia seemed surprised so much so she suddenly disappeared, as Callie resurfaced. She looked at Eislyn worriedly “It happened again didn’t it? She came back?”

"Yes, but she made a critical error. I believe we can treat you and get you better. It won't be easy, but I think all the medical staff is willing to do what i necessary for your recovery."

Callie nodded. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes Eislyn. Whatever it takes...”
