Rebalancing the Scales

Mission: The Orion Syndicate
Location: USS Washington

The Washington had gotten underway while the gamma shift was still on duty. It was a rare thing for them to have the opportunity to be in command of the ship while the ship was leaving a station, but the captain had called to the bridge and informed them to take them out of the system, and so the bridge crew was following orders. Celes was happy to run the bridge until the rest of the alpha shift officers arrived.

Shran came onto the bridge from the turbolift and saw they had left the station and were nearing the edge of the system. He made his way toward his command station, "Helm, lay in a course for Orion, warp 8. Engage when ready."

The ensign at the helm input the course and speed at her station. The Washington jumped to warp as the captain sat down. Celes quickly took her station at Ops and the rest of the alpha shift arrived on the bridge. Shran was actually a bit surprised to see Aiko and Jon as both he expected to still be recovering, though it was encouraging seeing them both well enough to return to their duties.

Shran took a look at the readouts to make sure everything was as it should be. Once he was satisfied he looked to Jon, "I want to meet with you, Ayana, Celes, and..." he took a moment to think on it and recalled that Samantha was still away, "...and Dex to meet with me in the conference room in 20 minutes. I'll be giving you all a classified briefing. You have the bridge until then commander."

Shran rose and quickly made his way to his ready room to gather the data that he wanted to brief his officers on. He looked at the latest intel they had received only an hour prior and he shook his head. They were going into the Devil's den, and what would come of it nobody could say for certain.
