Acting Captains Log - Supplemental

The last few hours have turned everything upside down. What started as curiosity as to why the Borg were in this region has ended up with both the Captain and First Officer being taken and most likely assimilated. We know for a fact the Commander Grayson has become one with the Borg, and I believe it will only be a matter of time before the Captain succumbs as well. We have launched a rescue mission consisting of a small but effective away team who have been inoculated against assimilation as per the protocols written by The Doctor on the USS Voyager whilst in the Delta Quadrant. The methodology proved sound there at least in the short term - I hope it serves us well here.

The Washington has taken a beating - we are currently effecting repairs as quickly as possible as to retrieve the away team as necessary. Our priorities are defenses and transporters at the moment, whilst weapons and warp capability would be nice to have but not essential. Well.. slightly less essential.

Sickbay is ready for the assimilation reversal process and I have given them all the records and notes of Dr Crusher and The Doctor, both the leading minds in this procedure. I pray we get to use them.
