Mission:
Wounds From the Mirror
Location: USS Saber
Smith, Murdoch, and Barracus made their way through the corridors or the Saber, racing to the shuttle bay in hopes of capturing the Mirror Shran and as many of his cohorts as possible. Meanwhile, coming from sickbay, Peck and Wyatt made a similar journey. As both teams approached the shuttle bay doors from opposite ends, Peck noted his commander. "Seems like they are already in the shuttle bay" Peck noted.
"Phasers on stun. Captain wants them in the brig, not in bags" Smith noted.
Wyatt nodded at Commander Smith's order. "How do you want to handle this Commander? I don't think rushing them is a good idea."
"Not my first choice either, but this part of the mission is improvise as needed. As much as I would love to send Murdoch in guns blazing via a runabout, we don't have that sort of time. So everybody move tactically and avoid getting shot. We have to incapacitate them before they attempt to escape" Smith replied.
Pech understood exactly what that meant. So did the rest of his team. Hopefully Wyatt was on the same wavelength. This was about to be a firefight, simple as that. The doors opened and Peck took the lead going in. He spotted the Mirrors immediately, getting into a shuttle already. He fired once, the blast hitting the shuttle by its hatch. Shran and Deanna looked at Peck and saw the others streaming in and fired back, disruptor blasts streaming and reminding Peck of being in a warzone.
Wyatt followed Peck in and instantly saw Mirrors. He fired quickly, his shot scorching the side of the shuttles as the Mirrors returned fire.
The Mirrors were fighting fiercely, as disruptor bolts streamed through the air all around the shuttle bay entrance. Smith and the rest of his team entered, and the firefight intensified. Smith looked closely but cautiously at the positions the Mirrors seemed to have. They had people outside the shuttle and inside firing at them at this point. The primary targets though were the Mirror Shran and Deanna, both of whom were currently outside of the shuttle. He also noted at least three others outside the shuttle firing at them at the moment.
Wyatt noticed as he was returning fire two Mirrors that looked like Commander Grayson and Commander Raven-Grayson standing outside the shuttle returning fire along with Mirror Shran and Mirror Deanna.
As the firefight continued, Mirror Deanna began to active scan the minds of those attacking them, pulling out any relevant information she could. Peck dropped to the ground behind a shuttle in obvious pain suddenly, fighting mentally as he fought against the telepathic attempts to invade his mind. While she wasn't able to casually enter Peck's mind, she was finding it relatively easy to get into the minds of the others. Finally, she leaned into Shran, "They have retaken Engineering and freed Parker. They'll have complete control of the ship in a few minutes, and we'll be trapped."
Shran didn't respond, he just kept firing. "Take the others, you know where to go. They'll be happy to capture me. I'll be fine in their soft prison."
Deanna stopped firing for a moment and kissed Shran. Breaking the embrace she looked over at her Jon and Callie, "We're leaving. Into the shuttle, now" she said in a serious tone.
Mirror Jon fired another couple of shots before hustling Callie into the shuttle , waiting for Deanna to join them.
Wyatt made his way to Peck. "Face! Are you alright?" He asked kneeling beside the man even as the shuttle powered up.
"Murdoch, check on Face" Smith ordered as he continued firing. Barracus moved around and attempted to flank the Mirrors, but Shran saw him coming and hit him in the leg, dropping the big man. Smith saw that his man had been hit and raced to pull him out of the line of fire.
Deanna didn't want to leave, but she knew what Shran had told her was the only way at this point. "I'll find you my love, and we'll make them all pay for this" she said to Shran as she hopped into the shuttle, closing the hatch behind her.
Shran continued firing at the assault team as the shuttle powered up behind him and lifted off. The klaxons began to sound signifying that the shuttle bay doors were opening, and the sound of the static field coming up could be heard by all.
Murdoch got to Peck and relieved Wyatt, allowing him to return to the fight. Murdoch checked on Peck and understood immediately what had been happening. Peck opened his eyes, "She is one vicious telepath."
Wyatt fired at the shuttle but the shots were useless just scouring the shuttle's sides. He turned his attention to Mirror Shran and fired at him to keep him pinned where he was while, no hope of escape. While other security members came to lend a hand in keeping Shran pinned down.
The shuttle took off, exiting the shuttle bay and into space, and then quickly jumped to warp. That just left the top target in a firefight against 5 combatants. However, he didn't know one of them was Murdoch, who had suddenly gotten one of his "ideas."
Murdoch opened the hatch to the shuttle they were using for cover, got in, and then closed the hatch. Jumping into the pilot spot he activate the controls, doing the quickest preflight one could ever imagine. As he did, Barracus, bleeding but now out of danger commented to Smith, "What is that crazy fool doing Commander?"
Smith looked at the shuttle pilot area through the glass and smiled. "The unexpected as always" Smith said with a smile.
The shuttle lifted of and slowly began to turn towards Shran. With the other shuttle now gone, Murdoch had plenty of room to maneuver. With Shran in sight the shuttle's phasers fired once, hitting the wall, a warning shot if ever one existed. Smith called out, "Drop you weapon and surrender, or prepare yourself for the afterlife."
Shran had no choice. His only consolation, Deanna had escaped. He tossed his weapon to the ground and stood, his hands raised. "Very well, you win, this time."
Smith looked to Wyatt, "Let's do this nice and slow lieutenant. If he moves, stun him."
"With pleasure sir." Wyatt replied as he raised the phaser to cover Shran.
Smith approached cautiously, the tactical training he had very apparent. When he was only 5 ft. from Shran, he stunned him himself, then casually walked over and placed restraints on him. He looked at Wyatt and gave a thumbs up and then over at Murdoch in the shuttle and just gave a wry grin.
For his part, Murdoch repositioned the shuttle and landed it, deactivating the engines and going through the entire deactivation process. Peck made his way over to Barracus to check him out, pulling out the emergency medkit at the de facto medic for the team and putting a simple dressing on the wound. "Nothing serious here. We'll get you to the doctor and you'll be right as rain."
As Wyatt approached Smith looked to him, "My team will transport this one directly to the brig on the Washington. You can link up with the others down in Engineering. I suspect Capt Parker has things well in hand now and will be eager to lead you to the bridge to retake the last part of this vessel."
"Yes sir, I'll head to Engineering now and get with Vienna and the others and see how Captain Parker wants to proceed next." Wyatt answered.
As Wyatt exited the shuttle bay, Smith and his team, along with their prisoner, the Mirror Shran dematerialized. While it wasn't a perfect victory, they had captured the primary target, and that was enough for one day.
