Mission:
Wounds From the Mirror
Location: USS Saber
Peck moved slowly through the corridor, Wyatt parallel with him. He looked over at Wyatt, "This is certainly a different situation. You ever deal with something like this before?"
Wyatt shook his head, "Similar but not exactly like this. Last mission with the Space Nazis, where we were moving through the bunker. But never hunting, searching through a starship."
"I've done seek & destroy, capture, and even rescue ops before, especially during the war, but never all at the same time. And honestly, I got to say, the idea that we are battling against copies of some of our own people from another universe seems insane" Peck replied as he continued forward slowly.
Wyatt nodded. "It is definitely an uneasy feeling. Not one I want to repeat anytime soon." As the pair continued to move forward at a slow but steady pace.
"I'm betting we find something worse than what we saw in those Nazi labs when we reach sickbay. I always seem to get the glamorous assignments" Peck replied with a smile.
Wyatt looked at him, "Glamorous? I don't think that word means what you think it means." He replied as the duo continued their push forward.
They turned the corner and were just in sight to the doors to the ship sickbay. It was quiet, perhaps overly so. Peck was in the lead, moving slowly towards the door. He signaled Wyatt to move to the other side, allowing them to pincer the door in case anyone came out before they opened it themselves.
Wyatt threw a hand out. "Hold up Face. This isn't right. There's no one here, not even token resistance. I suggest we proceed very cautiously. This could all be a trap."
"I think everything is a trap. Par for the course working with Cmdr Smith. We'll take this nice and slow" Peck replied.
Wyatt nodded, "Heard that and that sounds like a good plan as I want to go back to the Washington and Vienna."
Peck signaled that he would open the door on a 3 count. He took a deep breath before looking at the door control. In his mind he counted, one, two, three and then hit the control, the door to sickbay opening.
Wyatt stood across from Peck, his phaser steady in his hand as he waited for the Sickbay door to open and reveal the interior of the room and any occupants.
The door opened and Peck glanced inside. Things looked clear from his vantage point, and he looked to Wyatt to see how things looked for him.
Wyatt looked into the room, at first it looked clear and then he saw it. A medieval rack and strapped tightly into it was Doctor Samantha Howard! Standing alongside her was the Saber's EMH. He looked closer, there was water dripping on her head very slowly, a drop at a time every few seconds. "Son of a Bitch!" He exclaimed. Sam looked like she had been through hell. "Peck!" He shouted as he rushed to Sam's side, "Computer deactivate EMH!" He snapped as he turned his attention to Samantha. "Easy Dr. Howard. You are safe now." He said softly as he knocked the water dripping on her head away and began to undo the straps that held her.
Peck followed in, checking the interior while Wyatt secured Sam. "All clear" he called out. He made his way back to Wyatt and the doctor, "Looks like they did a real number on you doctor. Any idea who it was that took you and did all this?"
Sam felt the pressure release from her body and it curled inwardly on itself on pure instinct. She was hurling and protecting herself from further harm. Mentally she was a mess, her body bruised and broken and her spirit in tatters. She looked through matted hair with dead eyes at the away team, fear still lingering.
"Doctor Howard," Wyatt spoke again softly, gently to the battered woman, noticing the fear in her eyes. "You are going to be okay. We'll get you back to the Washington where they can treat you properly. Your nightmare is over."
Sam blinked, still curled up in the fetal position and nodded imperceptibly. Somewhere deep down she knew these people were here to help her and that she had to move to help them. Slowly she unfurled, still guarding her injuries as best she could with one arm hanging useless from its socket.
Wyatt helped her to sit up, careful to avoid touching the one arm that hung limply at her side and doing any further damage to it. "Everything is going to be just fine Doctor." Wyatt repeated, figuring he couldn't say it enough to help the clearly battered and traumatized Sam.
Sam nodded and managed to get to her feet, swaying slightly for a moment before her equilibrium stabilized. She could tell adrenaline was only going to get so far before the wheels fell off again. "Lets go home" she said quietly, looking at her rescuers.
Wyatt gently placed a hand on Sam's uninjured arm to help stabilize her before she fell over. "I couldn't agree more Doctor. Next stop the Washington's Sickbay."
Together they headed out of the room that had caused her so much pain and anguish.
At the door, Peck stood like a sentry, guarding their exit. His rifle perched against his shoulder, ready to fire at a moment's notice, he looked the part or a soldier. He could sense the pain Sam was in, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. He hit is comm badge, =^=Washington, we have located Dr. Howard. She needs immediate transport to sickbay. Wyatt currently is assisting her stand, but she needs immediate care. =^=
=^= Understood lieutenant. I have a lock, ready for immediate medical transport. Dr. Del Rio has given a greenlight for transport/ =^=
Peck looked back at Sam and Wyatt. "You want to go with her, or you want to go with me to link up with the rest of the team?"
Wyatt looked at Sam and then to Peck. "I'll go with her to the Washington Sickbay just to make sure she doesn't collapse and then return back here to you and link up with the rest of the team."
Sam barely raised her head at the exchange, Wyatt supporting most of her lithe form as she struggled to remain upright. She focused on one foot in front of the other. Whatever it took to get off this hell hole.
Peck nodded and relayed the info to the transporter chief, his eyes staying focused on the corridor so as to not get caught flatfooted. The sound of the transporter zipping Sam and Wyatt away echoed in his ear and he took a couple steps out and looked down both directions of the corridor, not sensing anyone before looking. As he made his way back into the relative safety of sickbay, he contacted Smith and gave him an update, receiving orders to rendezvous at the shuttle bay. As his talk with Smith concluded, Wyatt rematerialized, Sam safely dropped off to the care of his young subordinates. Peck informed Wyatt of their new orders, and the two headed off, slow and steady.

On the bridge of the Saber, the boarding into the cargo bay was noticed by a very nervous Terran. After informing his superior, he was ordered to take the information to Shran, who had commandeered the captain's quarters. The Terran moved slowly to the door and hesitantly pressed the door chime.
The door opened, Deanna standing there wearing only a loose-fitting robe. She said nothing, only looking at the Terran. Her face became one of anger. She looked back towards the bedroom and said simply, "The mice are at play, and we have rats aboard."
"I've had enough of these people. Go to our black level plan" Shran replied.

Cmdr Smith led his team and Vi's team through the corridors of the Saber. They had encountered light resistance thus far and were nearing the Engineering section. He looked back at Vi, "My team will breach, your team holds as back up and covers our six in case they attempt to send reinforcements."
“Understood” Vi nodded. “Don’t worry no one will be getting past us.”
The door opened and they pushed in, firing on several ragtag individuals. It only took a few minutes for them to siege control of Engineering.
Capt Parker entered with Vi and entered her access codes into the computer, regaining control over the ship. She looked at Smith and Vi, "These psychos didn't get all the information they hoped. Looks like they have done plenty of damage to my ship though. I'll need a handful of engineers to get things completely under control here, but I am routing all command functions down here for the time being, so they will have few options left to them besides surrender or fight."
Smith smiled. "I love it when a plan comes together."
Outside Vi was keeping watch, there’d be no surprises whilst she was on watch. At least she hoped not anyway.
"Well done captain. Lockdown everything, starting with the bridge. We can anesthetize everywhere but here, then have an easy clean up" Smith said with a smile.
With engineering secured and control of the ship now back under Capt. Parker, Smith was ready to move out and search for additional captives and to capture as many of the Mirrors as possible. "If you have control of sensors captain, I'd love to know how many people are still aboard the ship, and where they are hiding" he queried.
"I am reading two humans on the bridge, likely some of the Terran flunkies that run things. Reading several personnel in the shuttle bay, including one Andorian and one Betazoid. That has to be the Mirrors of Shran and Deanna" Parker replied as she worked the sensors at the engineering console.
"The bridge can wait then" Smith said emphatically. "We need to get to the shuttle bay, keep them from escaping. He looked to Vi, "You and your remaining people remain here, keep Engineering secure while we go after these Mirrors."
“Understood” Vienna nodded. “I’m not going to let anyone get past us.”
