The Shuttle Incident

Bridge USS Washington
Jon continued to look at the alien ship in the middle of the viewscreen even as medical was working on getting the medical supplies to Sam on the planet below. Vaccines that could save the population from a devastating virus sweeping over it.
He looked to Callie, "Anything Callie?" Before he looked to Kuzma, "Hail that ship again."
Working silently, Imik continued to work with her sensors in an attempt to scan the alien vessel. She had to defeat both radiation and the alien sensors, and up to now that had proven difficult. In her mind she had concluded that even Ojnas sensors would not have succeeded in beating the problem, but to gain an advantage over the aliens she had to find a way. An idea suddenly struck her, "Commander, please evacuate the forward sensor array personnel. I wish to transmit a Tachyon burst in an attempt to disrupt the alien sensor array and infiltrate the Tetryon disruption, it may or may not have the desired effect but I do not want to harm our own people."
Jon nodded and tapped his combadge, "All personnel in the forward sensor array evacuate now! Report when the array has been evacuated." He waited for acknowledgement and a few seconds later he got it it. "Array is empty Imik, try your idea."
Setting her sensors to now fire a Tachyon burst, Imik pressed the button. The burst hit the alien problem with an unexpected result; the vessel seemed to rock violently as the burst rippled along its hull blowing out its sensor array. It also dissipated the Tetryon radiation as the engines also appeared to suffer damage. Looking at Jon, Imik had an expression of being non-plussed. "I have no idea what just happened Commander, the result of my experiment was beyond what I expected. They may wish to communicate to us now, but I would still advise caution as I cannot ensure their weapons are now inert."
Like everyone on the bridge, Jon watched as the Tachyon burst hit the alien ship with unexpected but welcomed results. He turned in his chair to lookback at Imik. "Wow, Imik. nicely done and recommendation noted. We'll stay alert and we'll let them reach out to us... if they so desire and if they don't shame on them. But we're done being nice. We have our people, the population of the world and the world itself to protect and we will."

"Chief, the energizer is offline. And the EPS system is down" Kapowski relayed.
"We have a plasma fire from a ruptured power conduit" Lawrence added.
"This day just keeps getting better and better!" Aaron yelled through the deck plates as he crawled on hands and knees to the next section. "Recommend rotate power to auxiliary capacitors for the time being." Turning the corner, the Chief began going down the next row, searching for a specific manual junction. He could feel his sweat trickle as the ambient temperature began to rise and the smell of electricity arcing through the air emanated all around him.
For all its advancements every Starfleet vessel contained the tried-and-true manual power conduit with lever interface. Aaron heaved the on the right most pipe from the 3 to 12 position and brought out his PaDD, double checking his hunch. Yep, the CHENG is gonna hate this one. He thought to himself, shaking his head and laughing.
The entire Jeffries tube filled with the energetic hum of electrical power shifting to a new circuit. The hair on Aaron's arms began to raise as he shuffled his way back to the Transporter Room knowing that regardless he would most likely get a bit cooked. That was fine. Wasn't his first time, wouldn't be his last.

"Washington, I need that medication. And some security personnel, there's a mob of people beginning to overrun the hospital desperate for treatment" Sam's urgent voice crackled over the ship's comm system. Someone had seen the Starfleet team enter the hospital, and word had spread. Desperation fueled the panic already running rampant through the sick populace.
"Understood Sam." Jon replied calmly, "Be advised we're dealing with an alien ship in orbit that may be responsible for the virus. A four-person team of security personnel and a supply of medicine will be at your location shortly." He tapped his comm badge closing the link with Sam and talking to Chief Geiger, "Chief, I need to send medication and security personnel to Dr. Howard's location. What's the status of the transporter?"
"So, someone's gonna be pissed we found a cure to their little plague?" Sam retorted, hearing the angry horde advance further into the hospital demanding the cure.
"I think that is a fair statement Sam." Jon replied.
On the bridge Callie looked at Jon. “Whoever they are they’re not giving much away. They’re determined but that’s all I can get unless you get them to talk to us.”
After her small success, Imik had continued to work on her sensors. Now that the radiation had been dispersed, she began to target certain sections of the alien ship in an attempt to locate the bridge, she found it under the hull just above what she took to be their deflector array. It was heavily armored and therefore able to deflect her scans, "Commander, I have located what appears to be their bridge. It is heavily armored and shielded, it is sitting below the hull above what I take to be their deflector dish." She then ran another complete hull scan and found a problem, "Their weapons are charged and targeting our nacelles along with our weapons arrays."
"That's alright Callie. Just continue to monitor them report what you can."
To Imik he said, " Raise our shields and target our phasers on their engines but don't fire. Wait for my order." He then continued, "Also, lock a spread of torpedoes on their bridge. They are going to find out they are fooling with the wrong ship and crew, if they decide to push this."
"Moving to red alert, raising shields and phasers are targeting the alien vessel's engines, full spread of torpedo's are now locked on their bridge and awaiting further orders." Imik checked each and every move off as she made it, once finished she stood ready and simply looked towards Jon. He would make the command decision; he would give the order.
Jon nodded, "Very good. The next move is theirs." He remarked as his eyes remained focused on the alien ship hanging motionless before him.
After a moment, Jon turned in his chair to look at Kuzma. "What's the latest ETA on the Fleming?"
=^= "Geiger to Bridge, we're go for Beam Out. But we'll need to retrieve everyone by shuttle if you want them back within 8 hours. I've done a bit of a brute force bypass..." =^=
Good work Chief." Jon replied, "However we aren't beaming back yet. A security detail and a supply of medication is to be beamed down to Dr. Howard's location." Jon finished as the detail and medication arrived in the transporter room.
"The Fleming will be here in 26 hours" Kuzma replied.
"If Dr. Howard and Cmdr Celes have found at least a stopgap treatment, that would be a short enough time gap to allow us to leave, once this standoff is dealt with" Ibarra added from the rear science station.
"Reading power surges from the alien vessel" Kuzma reported. "They are preparing to fire."
