Mission:
Sins of the Empire
Location: USS Washington
ON:
Imik sat at her station and watched an intermittent blip slowly move across her screen, another cloaked ship? Possibly, but this blip was moving not towards the Washington but away from the planet. Considering it was cloaked, they almost shouldn't be detecting it at this point. Should she inform Shran? Of course, but he was busy with other matters, and for some reason had decided that the danger and the battle was over.
Her Ojnas training screamed in her head to report, her Federation training did the same. But she remained quiet and simply watched, but the manual targeting system also moved right along with the blip. Imik was tracking her mysterious blip with the phasers, but she had included the torpedo tracking system as back up in case the blip moved out of range of her phasers. Her pilot's instinct had kicked in, and she now stalked this blip, but the hunt would soon end.
"Sinkahue, cloaked vessel at 215.33 speed half impulse, its course puts it on a direct heading out of the system and towards the border." She had done her duty, informed her Sinkahue of the danger. What happens next is up to Shran.
"Confirmed" Deanna noted as a follow up. "We shouldn't be detecting it, so it may be an older ship, or its cloak is malfunctioning."
"It may not even be hostile" Shran murmured. "Keep a lock on it as long as you can, inform me if it turns toward us."
Imik simply nodded and gave another report, "Speed remains the same, heading remains the same. We will lose contact in minutes 10 Sinkahue if nothing changes." Imik's senses were alert, something wasn't right about this. as Deanna had stated they shouldn't be able to track this vessel. Could this be a feint? Look here while we move over there, the blip disappeared and instantly Imik widened her search area, there had to be something, there simply had to be. Romulans didn't just roll over and surrender, but Imik found nothing so couldn't report.
"Receiving message from the surface. It is Cmdr Smith. They are reporting a bingo sir" Deanna reported.
"Stand down red alert but keep us at yellow alert Imik. Keep the shields up for now, just in case the Romulans decide they want to save Toral, or worse, Toral's forces attempt to make a foolhardy effort to save him" Shran ordered.
Switching from red to yellow, Imik now ensured the shields were ok. But during her systems check she got a little surprise, a small, cloaked vessel set her proximity alarm off Instantly Imik went back to red alert, and scanned for the intruder, but this time it wasn't as easy. She couldn't find any trace of the ship, "Shinkahue, a small, cloaked vessel activated our proximity alarm. but I am unable to locate it. I suggest we scan for possible boarders; it might be a rescue attempt of some sort."
=^= Murdoch to Washington. You mind opening the shuttle bay doors. This Romulan scout ship doesn't handle great, especially with us being inside your shield perimeter. =^=
Shran offered a chuckle. "Open the shuttle bay doors. And Deanna, make sure you send a copy of the regs to Murdoch regarding shuttle approaches to a starship." Shran looked back to Imik, "Return us to yellow alert. I believe Cmdr Grayson will have prisoners to offload.
Imik bobbed her head and returned the ship to yellow alert, but kept her long range sensors operating. Her Pilot senses were sending her alert messages, but the screens stayed clear and everything remained quiet. Then suddenly, "Rig for collision!" Imik's voice carried over the bridge, she looked to Shran, "Small probe like object closing fast on our portside, I can not get a weapons lock as it appears to be out of phase. Contact point will be between decks five and six and towards the deflector dish area."
"I have it" Deanna noted as she activated the tractor beam, catching the object. "Looks like an escape pod launched while a vessel was still cloaked. I'd like to hold it out there while we do a comprehensive scan."
"By all means" Shran noted.

Lawrence had given orders to people to start the repairs on the environmental systems. She now was escorting the Chief off the deck before he ran out of air. They had to deal with this puncture in his suit. If the puncture hadn't partially sealed itself against the skin with the flash frozen blood he might have dealt with a decompression. He had wanted to remain to get the work done, but she wasn't allowing that. She couldn't force him to sickbay, but she could get him off the deck so he could get treatment and perhaps a new suit. A medic would be waiting for them in the next section.
"Alright I'll get this patched up Ma'am, but I WILL be back as soon as it's workable. We have too much to get done for me to be out of rotation for long." Aaron grumbled, walking beside the Ensign. Damn Officers, thinking they outranked him, why did they have to be right?
Lawrence offered a soft chuckle. "You think you are getting out of this job because of this Chief? Maybe we ought to have the medic check you for a head injury" she said teasingly.
They arrived in the safe zone and the medic, a Denobulan, took a cursory look at the wound. "This doesn't appear too serious."
"The wound isn't my concern, its his suit. Can you treat him while we get him a new one?" Lawrence asked.
The Denobulan scoffed. "I don't see why not."
Aaron disconnected the gauntlet portion of the suit, wriggling his hand free and presenting it to the Corpsman. "Appreciated shipmate." He said with a grunt in response to the cold spray from the medical tricorder. "No local anesthetic. How thoughtful."
"As the great Denobulan doctor Phlox was known to say, "Harming a patient is unethical, but I can cause as much pain as I like."
Lawrence couldn't help but give a chuckle.

Callie stood looking around, the flow of wounded had been brutal and along the way her poor uniform had caught the brunt of some of the mess stained with small patches of blood. She sipped her glass of water, a little refreshment while she took a moment to rest.
Sam noticed the bags under her friend's eyes and headed over, placing a kind hand on Callie's shoulder.
"You ok?" She asked gently.
“Tired” Callie offered a smile. “This has been a brutal shift, I honestly don’t know how you and your staff do it.”
"It's not like this all the time - but you do kinda get used to it. Knowing it doesn't last forever helps" Sam shrugged, wiping her hands on her uniform and leaving multicoloured smears amongst the mess already there. "Take a break, we've got this mostly dealt with - unless someone else takes some shots at us"
