Duties and Orders

Mission: A Dark Looking Glass
Location: USS Washington

Shran looked over the reports coming in Cmdr Kira aboard Deep Space 9 regarding the duplicates and from Celes regarding her efforts to discover how to get everyone back. While Celes hadn't figured out how exactly to get Grayson and the others back yet, she had discovered the cause of the crossover and knew what needed to be done to close the rift. That seemed to be the easy part, but first they needed to get everyone back to where they belonged. Kira's reports had the duplicates enjoying the many amenities that Quark had to provide, but Shran feared, much like Kira, that it was only a matter of time before the duplicates tired Quark and decided to do things more in line with their chaotic universe. Shran decided that Kira's security detail was fine for simply watching the duplicates, but he wanted a more trained hand for when he needed them rounded up so they could be sent back. He had given it some some thought as to who might best be suited for such a task, and it was with some curious delight that he came to the conclusion that the person best suited for the job was Stonebridge. He hit his communicator and requested his presence in his ready room.

Stonebridge had been under the weather, but now he was feeling fine. He was taking the time he had left to read reports and see what had been going on whilst he was down and out. Just then he got a summons to head to the bosses ready room. This actually brought a smile to his face.

“Roger that. I’m on my way. “ and he headed for a turbo lift.

Five minutes later:

As he arrived on the bridge, he nodded to the tactical station who seemed to be happy to see him. He pointed to the ready room and got a head nod from operations so he headed in. As the door was already open, he stuck his head in.

“You want to see me sir?” Asked Stonebridge

"Yes, come in" replied Shran. Shran waited for Stonebridge to take a seat, the door closing behind him. "I have a job for you. I assume you are aware of the current situation with the duplicates from the Mirror Universe? We need them to be returned when we get our people back. Cmdr Kira has them aboard the station currently under light guard at Quark's establishment, but both she and I are of the opinion that it is only a matter of time before they decide to leave his establishment in search of other greener pastures. As it is our people at stake, I'd like for you to take over the observation of these duplicates, from a distance, and keep them out of trouble. I know this isn't your typical duty, but it is something I think your skills are perfect for."

Stonebridge looked skeptical but only for a second. “I’d be glad to sir. If you can give me complete info on these people I’ll have my best Intel guys take care of it. “ said Stonebridge with the utmost confidence.

"They are duplicates of Grayson, Estella, Dr. Howard, and Ensign Phoenix. I can't tell you much more than that. They have been cleaned up, but considering where they are from, they should be considered devious and dangerous. I don't want them harmed, and they shouldn't feel cramped, if you get my meaning" said Shran.

“I see. “ came Stonebridge’s response. “I’ll run a counter surveillance program on them. They will never know they are being watched. Except for the guards you have watching them now. You do have someone watching them now right?” Asked Stonebridge.

"Cmdr Kira has station security watching them. You can speak with them if you have questions or want to make arrangements. The head of security is a former Bajoran StarFleet officer named Ro Laren. I'm sure you'll be able to get things straight without issue. Dismissed lieutenant, and happy hunting, as it were." replied Shran.
