Location: USS Washington

"Entering the Ivor system" purred L'Rissa from the helm.

"Slow to impulse" replied Shran routinely. "Full scan of the system." Shran leaned over to whisper to Jon, "It will be interesting to see what progress has been made in rebuilding the colony since the Borg destroyed it over a decade ago."

Jon nodded in agreement. "Agreed sir."

"No hostile vessels detected. Detecting a sophisticated planetary defense grid in place around Ivor Prime" noted Sachzny.

Shran cracked a half smile. "No doubt. Notify Ivor Prime we have entered the system and we wish to speak with the local government." Shran looked to L'Rissa, "take us to the planet slow, half impulse and await confirmation before putting us into orbit. We don't want to be shot down on our first stop out of spacedock."

"Ivor Prime acknowledges our communication and is sending permission to make orbit. They await our away team at the governmental complex" Sachzny said in her professional manner.

"Very good." Shran looked to Jon, "Take an away team down and check in. I know neither of us enjoys playing diplomat but such are our orders. I'll have Samantha meet you in transporter room two."

"No problem sir" said Jon confidently. He stood, adjusted his tunic and then headed toward the turbolift, "Essie, Sachzny, with me." The three officers entered the turbolift and then disappeared to their destination.
