Away Mission

Mission: Unto Darkness, Light
Location: Sickbay

Dr Samantha Howard looked up from her computer as the Captain paged her to prepare for an away mission to Ivor Prime. A sliver of excitement coursed through her body making her feel more alive than the strongest coffee ever could. It had been a long time since any Federation vessel had visted this neck of the woods so to speak, so to be able to see first hand the efforts of the local people would be exciting.

Standing she headed to the small bathroom set off from her office and changed into a fresh uniform, adding the holster for her tricorder on one hip. Her fingers danced over the holster for her side arm but she decided against it - this was a diplomatic mission. A twinge in her gut told her to expect the unexpected and always prepare for the worst but her mind reminded her that turning up with sidearms probably wasn't the most diplomatic approach.

Heading back into her office she grabbed her portable med-kit, complete with the essentials should anything happen whilst on their mission.

A quick double check of all her equipment and Sam felt she was prepared and ready. With a spring in her step she headed for the transporter room and waited for the rest of the away team.
