Science Class

Posted on Sat Jul 16th, 2022 @ 2:15pm by Lieutenant Commander Deanna Celes & Lieutenant Ashton Cornell Ph.D.

Mission: A Trip to Middle Earth
Location: USS Washington

Deanna was riding the turbolift while she reviewed the preliminary reports she got from stellar cartography. The data collected was fascinating in its own right, especially considering the nebula was outside Federation space and had only been scanned by deep space probes. She considered the analysis and further study of the nebula something that would be quite interesting. Having a new CSO meant she wouldn't have to lead the study but would still participate.

The turbolift stopped and Celes exited and made her way down the corridor to her destination. A minute later she stood outside the new CSO's quarters and hit the door chime, waiting for a response.

Ash had only just finished unpacking his bedroom when he heard the chime. He walked out and looked around the main room briefly, noting all the unpacking he still had yet to do. Calling out to the door, "It's open."

The door opened and Celes looked around before stepping inside, spotting Ashton. "Lieutenant, I'm Lt Celes. Considering you just arrived, I wanted to bring these preliminaries to you regarding the nebula stellar cartography is studying currently. I was going to bring in a few other science teams, but with you here it falls to you now." She stepped towards him to hand him the PaDD.

"Ah yes, thank you very much," Ash said, receiving the PaDD from the Lieutenant. He looked it over as he said, "This is indeed my problem now."

"I wouldn't call it a problem" Celes replied with a smile. "I think you'll find some of that quite interesting. Their is definite potential to allow engineering to run some warp tests. Of course, you'll want to discuss that with Cmdr Grayson."

As he continued to peruse the highlights of the information, Ash made some mental notes, including the one the Lieutenant mentioned. "Good idea. I'll also need to snag some extra power for scanner time. We'll be running the sensors into overtime."

"You won't have any problems. I'll even talk to Cmdr Grayson for you, let him know you'll need the sensors. He'll still want to speak with you of course. You look to be settling in well. I hope you will enjoy your time stationed here. The Washington is a good assignment, and you'll get plenty to do, though it won't always be routine." She gave him a smile in hopes of easing his mind. "I'll leave you to look over things." With that Celes turned and exited.
