I Must Sleep

Mission:
Hard Earned Peace
Location: Inara's quarters.
She had been up for the last two and a half days having to do damage control on whatever life she had left after Hela had been driving her into a rage. Her paintings were destroyed, two crew members were in recovery after being flash frozen. Hela seemed intent on driving her into a rage. She was on the verge of not caring anymore.
'Not caring would be nice' She thought to herself as she walked over to her desk and opened the drawer. Inside was a hand phaser, along with a bottle of wine. She grabbed the bottle instead of the phaser. She could have grabbed the phaser and ended this right now, but she wasn't sure if that would rid her of Hela. So, she decided on the extract of Dionysus and poured a glass, drinking it down.
Finally, she collapsed on her bed.
"A wise choice, drinking the wine over the weapon. The same choice Odin makes often" said Hela's voice from the dark corner. "At least the wine will ease your troubled mind."
"Shut up." Inara said simply as she laid on the bed. "I cannot begin to explain how thoroughly despicable you are, and I am falling asleep. Probably because I had a mad god driving me insane today."
“Madness is something rare in individuals — but in groups, parties, peoples, and ages, it is the rule” Hela mused. A wise human wrote that long ago. "Of course, I am not mad, but perhaps you are. Sleep could be the answer you seek. I could send someone to assist you with that, perhaps Nott."
She laid on her side. "Just leave me alone! You made me see her face again. YOU MADE ME!!!" She began to cry. "YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT HURT!!!" Inara noted. "I spent years healing, and you ripped open all the wounds. I gave in to the torture, and then they made me into something hideous and lewd!!! Then I did the same to her." She curled up. "How dare you. Leave me!!!" She began to cry.
She stumbled out of bed, grabbed a vase and threw it against the wall. "I met the love of my life. She was intelligent, wise, beautiful. I loved her in every way, but the universe, life, people I thought were my friends, they wouldn't let me have her. Even worse, they tried to make me not love her because 'she needed time to heal.' I hate them all!! And the captain went and scheduled her wedding while she was out there!! Being tortured by Bishop. 'I had no choice she said!' She had the choice to do the right thing... and she followed Starfleet's orders." She cried; she was getting it all out. "You want to know what I hate? Everything!! Even time itself. I don't want some fantasy you have conjured Hela." She noted. "What I want... is to be forgiven for failing her so much. I should have gone after her. Kept her safe from them, my crew. As long as you do not feel anything, you can take everything. Feel less pain."
Hela offered a sadistic smirk. “Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you” Hela replied bluntly. "You stared into the abyss, and I stared back. You may not have realized it, but I was watching, always watching. You didn't realize that you were going through something, finding the real you. You are fighting it, and while it is amusing, it is a fruitless endeavor. And you great love, she isn't gone. She was never gone, never here. She is where she was meant to be, a servant in my domain. You too will become my servant, eventually."
"Melodious is the closed mouth" said a second female voice out of the darkness, this voice with a distinct Irish brough. "You always were one for the theatric Hela" said the voice as she slowly emerged from the shadows, a fiery redhead with eyes that flashed fiercely. "Leave this lass alone. She isn't yours. She has a story to tell, one you fear." This new woman looked at Inara, "I want them, all your comrades here to hear your story. And know that there is a special strength. A special strength in enduring such dark trials and hardships... and still remaining warm, and kind. Still willing to trust—and reach out.”
"I wanted her back so much. I wanted to change everything. I had a plan." Inara noted. "A plan that failed... Oh did it fail. Instead of arriving at the time and place I needed to be at.. I arrived before she and my enemies were even born."
"The two most powerful warriors are patience and time lass" the redhead spoke calmly. "You think you failed, but you haven't. You are exactly where you needed to be, where you were always. You only thought you were coming back to revenge, but you have a much different destiny than the one you assumed."
"Damn you Morrigan" Hela hissed. She slunk away when the redheaded woman glared in her direction.
