Win the battle

Location: Shuttle

Dr Samantha Howard grunted as she shifted Dr Knockers over her shoulders, forging forward on her exhausted legs towards the shuttle. She could hear Phoenix's weapons behind her and so knew he was making his way there. Hopefully the others would be waiting to get off this forsaken rock and back to a shiny sickbay with the most technologically advanced medical science the fleet had to offer.

The cavernous shuttle loomed towards them, her vision blurring with sweat from the additional weight she was carrying. The ramp lowered as she approached and she trudged inside, carefully rolling Knockers onto a bench to begin treatment. Phoenix arrived shortly after, in worse condition than Knockers was in. "Friggen heck who did we piss off today?" She mumbled to herself, tossing the medkit in between the two of them for easy access. She grabbed the secondary kit from the shuttle and yanked it open, allowing the tricorder to scan one whilst she worked on the other. Bandages were pressed into bleeding wounds whilst her other hand injected hyposprays into arteries.

Slowly but surely she stemmed the flow of blood, repaired organs and cauterised bleeding, injecting painkillers, antibiotics and nutrients to help win the bodies back to the land of the living.

After what seemed like an eternity Sam felt as though she had won the battle against life and death and had stabilised both her patients. Exhausted she sat back on her haunches onto to realise she was no longer alone.
