Stolen Mirror

Posted on Sun Nov 24th, 2024 @ 1:31pm by Lieutenant JG James Phoenix

Mission: The Gambit
Location: Phoenix's Quarters
Timeline: Current

James sauntered slowly through the corridor after his duty shift, which itself was right after Ayana relieved him on the bridge. He was drained. Not necessarily in a bad way, but after a feisty battle with Romulans, who wouldn't be? He wasn't complaining. He always enjoyed bridge duty even if it was just a simple duty shift.

He was also grateful for Admiral Carrol's assistance with the Romulans. It was a shame he couldn't talk about the Imperial. James was something of a starship nerd. He finally reached the door to his quarters and pressed the button on the control panel to enter. The doors slid open to reveal darkness.

James entered the room and turned on the lights which revealed his quarters to be ransacked. A look of horror struck his face. He tapped his badge. "Security to my quarters."

He dismounted his phaser and swept the room. His quarters were small and there was nobody in the main room. He moved quietly to the head and made an angled entry. Nothing. Whoever was here was now gone. James turned and began investigating.

The Lieutenant carefully moved across the room as to not move anything. He didn't want to lose out on any clues on who could have done this. James started at the bathroom and cleared it again. Nothing was missing. As he exited he moved to the bed, where the mattress was overturned. Once again, nothing. He searched his drawers and his closet and there were no lead.

Before he could continue, Ensign Ramirez and Chief Petty Officer Walton burst in. Seeing the Lieutenant the only one there, the Chief spoke up. "Are you alright sir?"

He looked at the duo. "Yeah, I'm good. My quarters aren't."

"Any idea who could have done this?" Ensign Ramirez asked.

James shrugged. "Given who we just took aboard I have my suspicions. Mind helping me look for any evidence?"

The two members of security nodded and helped the Lieutenant searched his quarters. There looked in places more than once. Nothing. The only place they hadn't checked was Phoenix's desk.

"Need help getting your quarters back in order sir?" The Ensign asked.

James shook his head. "Only if you two aren't supposed to be busy with something else."

"It's no trouble sir" said the Chief, who followed by the Ensign, began putting the room back together. James sat down in his desk chair and began searching that area as well. It was weird. It was like nothing had been taken, and he knew of reports that would be important enough to steal to the right person, even if he was just a Lieutenant Junior Grade. That gave him a muse.

He began rifling through all of the reports he kept physical copies of, in the form of PADDs. Reports, personal logs, etc. And then he realized something else. He was missing his personal log on the time that him and some of his colleagues got trapped in the Mirror Universe. He cursed under his breath.

"Sir? one of the officers asked.

James stood up. "I know what was taken. A personal log from when I was-" he stopped himself seeing as two junior members of security were there and it would definitely be an issue if he divulged details about a classified mission. "On a classified mission, that has some relation to what's happening here now."

He sighed and looked at his two officers. "Thank you for the assist" he looked around the room. "And thanks for helping put the room back together. I can take it from here" James nodded.

He watched the two members of security leave. Who could have done this?
