Location: USS Washington

"We have achieved the desired effect" Deanna stated from her position at Ops.

"Excellent. Cease fire" Shran ordered.

The turbolift doors opened and a beaten and battered Jon slowly made his way out and onto the bridge. "Jon, you should be in sickbay" Deanna stated

Jon waved off the concern. "I'll go later. Need to speak with the captain about the colony."

"Deanna, take command. I'll be in my Ready Room with Jon" Shran stated firmly. He walked over and gave Jon a hand to get to his Ready Room, helping his XO to a seat. "You look like they put you through it. I want you done in sickbay with Sam as quickly as possible. Tell me what you need to tell me."

Jon nodded, "I've had better days sir." Then he took a breath and winced. "The colony needs to be knocked down a few pegs sir. The colony shield needs to be destroyed, as do the photon launchers and phaser batteries. The leaders, Oberth, Hess, Goebbels and the Chancellor all need to be tried in Federation court. All that should remain are homes, hospitals educational buildings and buildings that can supply power be it wind power or hydroelectric." He then added, "Of course it is your call sir."

"We've already done some of that" Shran replied. "The fate of this colony was largely determined before we even arrived. Though I do have some discretion as to the final outcome. Trials aren't necessary, though I understand your desire to see justice done after what you and the others went through. Whomever you were with when we beamed you up is now gone. Our assault that we used to assist with your retrieval destroyed the building you were in, along with a bunker where you were being held."

Jon gave a quick decisive nod at Shran's statement that those who were in the bunker with him are now dead. "Good riddance sir, they were truly evil wearing the mask of being civilized. I wish we could have tried them and had it broadcast to the members worlds, that evil still exists and we can't let our guard down, we have to remain vigilant."

"I would've preferred to get all of those that caused you and the others harm, but it seems this Goebbels person has disappeared. We have messaged the colony though, and they have been informed, and accepted, that they are to remain as they are, with no ability to leave the planet. I took the idea from the actions of James Kirk, who showed mercy to Khan. I hope things turn out better for us than it did for Kirk and his colleagues" Shran replied.

Jon nodded, "So they are essentially quarantined. Good. I hope they don't take your mercy as a weakness sir. Is the Federation going to send patrols out to make sure they are behaving?"

"I'm certain somebody will be sent to check on them, much the same way we do with the Cardassians and the Son'a since the war ended. In the interim, we are placing surveillance probes in orbit and phaser and torpedo launchers as well to deal with anything that might try to come in or out that isn't supposed to" Shran replied. "Now, let's get you to sickbay."
