Mission:
Wounds From the Mirror
Location: USS Washington/ USS Saber
Mirror Deanna strolled down the corridor of the Wahington. Pulling out her communication device, she signaled the Saber. "Love, I left you something interesting in the sickbay. Should you want to have some new playthings while I'm gone."
On the Saber, the Mirror Shran sat on the bridge like Khan on the Reliant as he stalked the Enterprise. Now it was this evil double of Shran seeking revenge on his counterpart and the entire Washington crew. Hearing this message a vile smile crept over his face. He tightened the grip on the chain attached to Capt Parker's slave collar, "That sounds like fun. Thank you, my love."
He looked over at two of his slave girls, "Go down and transport whoever you can get a lock on in the Washington sickbay. Escort them to the chamber."
"Yes, my lord" the taller one stated obediently before they headed off the bridge.
On the Washington in sickbay, LeFaye moaned in pain lying on the biobed. She looked around and saw Amethyst body on the ground in a pool of congealing blood and then looked to the other side and saw Shon on the ground. She feared the worst but called out, "Doctor. Doctor!"
Shon jumped up and moved to her patient tears in her eyes. "I'll give you something for the pain, you are going to be okay. she threw her doctors coat over Amethyst's body a cold hard ball of anger beginning to ball in her chest. Her friend was dead, and she would grieve at a later time but now she had a live patient to look after. "I'm going to give you something to help you sleep. Nurse, please prepare thirty cc's of dilamidon?" She turned looking out over what used to be a clean calm place of healing. "Someone will suffer for this," she said quietly as she walked over to take the prepared hypo.
LeFaye looked about further despite the pain she was in and noted that while Shon seemed to be talking to people, they were at this moment alone in sickbay. She took it that perhaps Shon was a bit hysterical considering the loss of life, losing two colleagues would certainly be tough on anyone. LeFaye was in pain, yes, but thankfully Shon had treated most of her wounds before being stunned, she remembered that because she hadn't fallen unconscious until about that moment when Shon was stunned. As Shon returned with the hypo and injected her, she felt a familiar feeling as she and Shon both were transported, materializing in the transporter room of another Federation vessel.
"Would you look at this..." a familiar voice said from the direction of the transporter controls.
LeFaye looked at Shon and then sat up with a grimace and looked around, seeing a sight she couldn't believe. Two women, human, dressed in little more than what she might consider tribal loincloths and equally primitive halter tops, clothing designed for sexuality rather than protection from the elements, standing there with disruptors in their hands aimed at she and Shon. She stared, mouth agape seeing the first woman looked like her cousin Ayana, and the other woman, somehow looked like her, a mirror image. LeFaye couldn't help but wonder for a moment if this is what it felt like to lose one's mind, but it quickly dawned on her that these must be Mirror counterparts.
The Mirror LeFaye, who had one difference is appearance, a scar that ran from her left hip all the way down the side of her leg to just above the knee, moved forward and began yelling at them, "You two get up. We got to take you to a holding facility."
"This patient needs to be in sickbay not in a holding facility" Shon said bravely. "Send us back to where we came from?"
The larger of the females, the Mirror Ayana stepped forward, "Your request for mercy fall on deaf ears here. Now get up and get moving, or the next thing you'll hear is her screams when she is punished for your disobedience."
LeFaye looked to Shon, "It's alright doctor, I'll manage. No need for you to endure anything on my behalf." She slowly got to a knee, grimacing and grunting, and then powered herself up to a slouching stance, her left arm slung against her chest so as to cover her mending wound.
They were escorted to the chamber, which was in fact the Saber sickbay. It looked like what one might expect a Federation sickbay would look like, smaller than Washington's facilities with only one biobed plus a second in a surgical bay. It was quiet, deserted, completely devoid of personnel. The Mirror LeFaye led them over to the biobed and indicated that her counterpart would be allowed to rest there. They stood guard, making one wonder what was to come.
Shon helped LeFaye onto the biobed. the wound had begun to bleed again so she looked around. The set up was almost the same as the Washington but sparser. She looked around for a clotting solution and some more bandages. She looked towards the guards and found it odd to see LeFaye standing there. Eventually she found what she was looking for and applied it to her wound bandaging it tightly. The blood flow stopped, she urged LeFaye to continue lying down for as long as she could and Shon began to think of Amethyst and their friendship. Her fists slowly balled and, although she was only half Vulcan she felt rage building. Then suddenly it was gone to be replaced by worry for her husband and children. She took LeFaye's hand and whispered, "We will get through this."
The doors to the sickbay opened and what looked like Shran, clad in a black leather uniform, walked in with a woman in tow with a chain and slave collar. The woman he had with him looked as if she had been beaten mercilessly, though the bruising appeared to be several days old now. He walked over and looked at Shon and LeFaye and offered only a grim ill-fated smile.
The Mirror LeFaye slowly made her way over to him and spoke softly, "Do you see the one woman my lord? My opposite it would seem."
"Delightful" he said with a sinister grin. He looked at Shon, "I believe you are one of the medical officers aboard your ship. The strange hybrid, Vulcan and Risian. What a contradiction to have mated. Vulcans are fun. They cling to their logic, thinking they can endure anything. What about you? Do you think you can endure anything?"
Shon looked at the mirror Shran, for a minute she found him extremely attractive, but she shook the thought away. "I am second in command in medical on board my ship." Shon said. "And I can endure anything, and I think you will find my genes give you more trouble than you want." She became quiet as again she looked at Shran clad in black leather and then to the poor woman collared beside him.
Shran smiled, "I like your boldness. I will happily see if your claims are valid." He walked to the far corner where a security harness was and he clicked the end of the chain to it, leaving his "pet" in the corner. He walked over and looked at LeFaye lying on the biobed, "It would seem my beloved has already worked on you, as has the doctor. I assume she is your patient" he said as he looked up over at Shon. "Which is more painful doctor, see your patient harmed, or being harmed yourself?"
Shon looked at him and licked her lips, "I assume this is a trick question, if I say myself, you will not believe me thinking I wish to save my patient pain? I do not wish my patient pain so I will say myself, but you will find me hard to break if you wish to do so?"
"No matter the universe, Vulcans are always the same. Logical. Unable to grasp the situation or appreciate the aesthetics. I simply wished to determine if you thought your patient capable to be interrogated. But if you wish to volunteer yourself to prove your pain threshold, who am I to refuse?" Shran replied. "Computer, activate the EMH."
The hologram activated, dressed in its crisp and clean uniform, but a dead look about it. "Please state the nature of the medical emergency" it stated in a bloodless voice.
"Restrain the Vulcan. Place her on the cross" Shran ordered.
The EMH walked in the surgical area to a hidden alcove and brought out the restraining device. The device looked to be made of pure tritanium, certainly sturdy enough to hold significant weight. The hologram then made its way over to Shon, "Resistance is futile" it said with dispassion that would rival a Vulcan, and the coldness that equaled the Borg.
The hologram escorted Shon to the retraining table and attached the pseudosexual restraints to her wrists, ankles, and across her forehead. It then knelt and removed Shon's boots, sitting them nicely in the corner behind her. Shran walked over to the surgical table and picked up the laser scalpel and then walked over to Shon, "I would suggest you avoid struggling unless you want to start the pain prematurely." Slowly he used the laser scalpel to remove her uniform like he was peeling an onion, one layer at a time until she was left bare, with the exception of her undergarments.
He took a step back and took in the sight of Shon, looking quite different without the uniform. "Despite those pointed ears, you are a fine specimen of female. I see you have endured pain before. Wonderful. It means you have a strong resolve, a high constitution. This bodes well." He looked over at the Mirror Ayana, "What do you think?"
"I believe she'll make for good sport for you my lord."
"Indeed" he replied vilely. "Doctor, treat the other one. I'd like her able to be questioned soon."
"Certainly" the EMH stated coldly.
"Leave my patient alone!" Shon exclaimed in a soft voice, although she knew the EMH had been altered in some way, dispassionate, cold. She slowed her breathing down clearing her mind for what was to come. Shon knew she was to experience pain but she had already endured so much pain, so what if she had to endure some more. what disturbed her more was the fact of her near nakedness. Her breathing had now slipped to just four breaths a minute and her brain began to slow breaking the links between feeling and pain.
"Computer, alter temperature in sickbay to conform with Andorian summer norms" Shran noted with a smile.
The computer beeped in confirmation and the temperature in the room began to lower rapidly, stopping at 7 degrees Fahrenheit. Everyone was freezing, except for Shran and the EMH, and Shran seemed to relish that. "Now, where to begin" he said aloud. "I'm sure you are employing Vulcan techniques to negate pain, but I should tell you, I've had many Vulcans under the knife, and they all broke in short order. Just a matter of applying pressure to the right points. I must warn you, if emotion is foreign to you, this is going to be a new experience for you."
He walked over and grabbed a tray and brought it over to his station, as if he were preparing to operate on Shon. Most of the items on the tray seemed to indicate various levels or butchery and barbarism was coming her way, but the first item he picked up was a hypospray, which he smiled at as he brought it over to show Shon. "Now this, I think you will appreciate. This is going to be injected into you like so," and he placed the hypo to her carotid and injected her. "You'll begin to feel the effect very soon. It is going to strip your control in your mind. Now the side effect is that it will hyper stimulate your somatosensory cortex, amygdala and hypothalamus, which will mean you are going to not only feel pain, but emotions in the rawest fashion you can imagine. While it does that, you'll start to feel your synapses being laid as bare as you are. Most Terrans tend to cry out in pain within 30 seconds, Vulcans usually hold out for a few minutes. Shall we see how long it takes you?"
Shon said nothing now blending her Riasan pain relief techniques along with Klingon somatic responses. Her eyes were open but she began to leave sickbay floating out into the universe breaking out of her body and stretching her mind. Five minutes passed and she was unaware of where or who she was.
Shran took a device that looked like a gnarly hand mallet and began smashing Shon's left hand, first breaking the bones in the hand and fingers but then smashing them. He beat on her hand for several minutes, then placed the mallet down and took hold of a flaying blade and cut into her, removing any trace of the burns she once received. The blade began to show itself in a wet green sheen. "Would you look here, scar tissue. Can't have that" he quipped darky. Once down there he continued up her arm, limiting himself to only the top quarter of the forearm as he approached the elbow, and then continuing up all the way to the shoulder.
"You know, the Terrans have some fascinating aspects to them, especially in their past. One method of torture and execution they used was called crucifixion. Rather brutal, but I approve of it. They would nail a person to a hunk of wood or tree and leave them there. While not entirely practical here, I have adopted certain aspects of it" he said with apparent glee. He took a metal spike and placed it at the elbow and then hit the button, and the spike pierced her body, sealing itself after exiting on the other side of her elbow, completely immobilizing the arm. He followed with another just below the shoulder.
He noted she remained silent through it all. "I see you are a bit of a bleeder. You aren't going to pass out from blood loss, are you?"
Shon lay there completely unaware of what was going on, how long she could remain that was debatable. The damage being done to her body was extensive, but her mind was still untouched, she simply was not within her body. Of course, she could not control the bleeding but was quite prepared to die, in fact she had always thought she would before her time. She remained quiet and unaware the broad span of infinite space moved within her and she was gone.
"She is attempting to die" the EMH stated coldly. "I can stabilize her if you wish."
"By all means" Shran replied, walking away to allow the holographic doctor an opportunity to work on Shon. As the EMH worked he stood by the instrument table, considering what he would do next.
Shon was trying to catch butterflies in her mind and missing them all, the vestiges of her mind would not obey her, and she felt herself being dragged back, every bit of pain she rebelled against. Some she could send into the abyss but some? she could feel her hand and fingers crushed along with the pain that went with that. Her thoughts were whether she would be able to perform surgery again. Her back burned and she screamed as she came back to full consciousness looking into the dead face of the EMH. She tried to claw the peace back and managed it to some degree, but she was conscious at last.
"You are free to return to your jovialities" the hologram stated. "I will note that she is fully conscious, and your injection is now having its desired effect."
Shran hovered over Shon. "Welcome back my dear. I see you tried to avoid the pain. How naughty. I will have to punish you for such an action. Now, what would be a proper punishment? Perhaps removing your arm. But that wouldn't be a punishment as I already was going to do that. Perhaps I should remove something else, such as an eye. Yes, that might be a good punishment. How does that sound to you?" he asked with a casual callousness.
Shon felt like screaming but knew her fear drove him. "Do what you must." Shon said in a soft voice I will not give in to you, do your worst."
"Marvelous" he replied in a sickly jovial tone.
