Wounds From the Mirror

Maintenance closets were more rare in the 24th Century. They could be used for their designated purpose, such as housing access points for jefferies tubes or other engineering items. They could also be used as janitorial closets. Starships needed to stay clean when a mission didn't go south after all.
There was a third purpose. Hiding. This was one of the one consistent uses of these rooms. They were perfect for hiding ones self from blood thirsty terrans.
The specific room Ashlynn was in was a similar shape to Harry's room from the first Harry Potter book. A series she both read and watched with James all those years ago. The room was actually of her choosing, since she knew the Saber like the back of her hand.
Phoenix's mirror counterpart had left a short while ago to do his sabotage. Nothing seemed to happen yet and she wasn't sure if she completely trusted him. However busting her out of her cell would still be a death sentence for him if Shran or Celes' counterparts had found out sooner than later, so she would trust him for the time being.
It seemed like her wounds had stopped bleeding for the time bleeding but they were deep enough to be a nuisance. Ash wasn't going to stay there forever though. She knew that the Washington would be sending teams as soon as possible. She also knew that Captain Parker likely had a plan and if she hadn't begun the actions of that plan that it would be soon with most of the enemy crew invading the Washington.
Phoenix had left her a phaser pistol. It wasn't much but it was better than nothing. The room was big enough for her to move around to get used to the pain. She'd need it for when she escaped. Undoubtedly she'd have to fight her way out. Unfortunately this sentiment came sooner than expected.
There were two soldiers on the other side of the door. As soon as she heard them she darted painfully to the bulkhead with the door. She listened to their conversation through the wall. It sounded like they were doing security rounds. They likely wouldn't check here if she kept quiet. If she didn't they would likely enter. Some thought of this as a tactical blunder. Ashlynn saw this as a distinct tactical advantage.
The intelligence operative mentally prepared herself. This was one of her specialties.
She noted a few stacked crates. She proceeded to shove the stack onto the ground, causing them to crash to the deck. She quickly moved back to the wall. The guards entered to investigate as planned.
They didn't immediately see Ash as they entered. One was a Vulcan and the other was a Trill. She could take them both as long as the Vulcan didn't attempt a nerve pinch. She raised her phaser while they didn't see her. She intended to fire on the Vulcan first but when she went to fire, a sharp pain hit her causing her to wince and skew her aim. Both of them turned around. She fired the pistol and instead of hitting the Vulcan it immediately hit the Trill, causing her to drop. Better than nothing.
Her partner turned around and immediately charged Ash. Unable to completely dodge his attack or fire in time, the second he made contact with her she managed to get behind him and slam him into the wall as hard as she could. It dazed him for only a second.
The Vulcan pulled a dagger and charged her again. This time he managed to strike her in the chest but nothing more as she managed to overpower him and send him to the floor. Without a second thought she fired a few shots of her phaser into him to make sure. She spat on his face. "For a Vulcan, you're quite aggressive" she quipped.
She picked up one of the bandages James left her and applied it to the fresh wound. It likely wouldn't be the last and there was only so many hits she could take.
Ash crouched down to pick up the dagger. It would prove useful in the coming hours. It wasn't safe in the room anymore. She pointed her phaser out of the room and looked both ways. The cost was clear. She then made her way to the nearest jefferies hatch to contemplate her next moves.
