Assistant Chief Tactical Officer's log,
Stardate 63950.10
It has been a few weeks since I took on my new job as Commander Imik's second in command. I never thought I would be promoted twice in a year. It's not impossible, but it is most definitely an uncommon occurrence. I'm not complaining by any means, I just feel that I've surprised myself.
My duties are the same as before, just more technical and in line with being the second in command of the security department, as one would expect. I'm used to most of these duties already.
What I am not used to is having so many people answer to me. Before my promotion, people still did answer to me, however it was more of the exception and not the norm. It'll take some getting used to. It isn't anything I can't handle. In fact, if I'm serious about taking the command test it is imperative that I get used to being a more senior officer. I can't afford not to. My career and colleagues depend on it.
On the bright side, the weeks since the Klingon conflict have been rather uneventful, which has allowed me to settle into my new role without much difficulty. However, knowing the Washington and our trouble magnet, I won't be surprised if I'm thrown into the fire quite soon. After all, it sounds like we'll be dealing with a house of dragons quite soon.
End log.
