Andorian Intuition

Captain's Log
We are en route to Bellum III for a survey mission, simple and routine. Two ensigns with tricorders and a standard science team of five monitoring the various sensor input could do this. It seems a waste for us to be sent out on such a mission, and yet orders are orders and here we are, 5 hours away.
I have a feeling about this survey mission, a tingling in my antennae that I can't seem to ignore. I know the feeling, but it goes against my years of training to make assumptions. I would be a poor captain though if I ignore it outright though. My thoughts are that if I at least put this thought out there via my log that perhaps I will gain clarity, or perhaps this feeling will simply pass.
Ten months ago I had this feeling, and I didn't act on it, and the ship barely survived, and I lost a lot of good people. Some good came out of that situation, such as Samantha's promotion and her Medal of Valor, but so much more was lost. Celes I think still is shaken a bit by it. The loss of so many engineers. I'd worry about Sachzny but she seems to view the loss of the security personnel as simply falling in the line of duty, which I suppose for security that is true. Jon and Estella both were in sickbay for a couple weeks after the incident, and I can't say I was left in perfect health.
We never saw them coming with that stealth technology. They were almost on top of us before we ever knew they were there. Quantum torpedoes were effective to a point but they were so close we were only able to hit them once before they were no longer an option. They were quick as well once they boarded the ship, but very unorthodox strategies. They didn't seem to want to capture the ship nor destroy it. They wouldn't even stay in one area for very long. I'd refer to them as pirates but that doesn't seem accurate either.
It took us 2 weeks to limp back to Federation space before we were able to make contact and have a tow vessel bring us into a starbase for refit and repairs. Command had far more questions than I had answers, and honestly, I was surprised when they kept the crew relatively in tact. They actually not only repaired the ship, but gave her a complete refit, including providing us with transphasic torpedo launchers and a solid supply of torpedoes and the new armor technology that has been in testing since Admiral Janeway brought it back from the Delta Quadrant.
I can't shake the feeling that we are about to run in to these mysterious folks again. I won't let my crew be caught off guard again. This time, if we do encounter them, we'll be ready. Assuming I can trust this feeling.
