Location: USS Washington

"Entering Septimus system" said L'Rissa.

Shran looked to Jon, "Any word from Stonebridge?"

"Just a brief one sir. That they are returning to the ship." Jon replied.

"Sir, shuttle coming up from the surface requesting permission to dock" said Celes.

"It would seem our advance team has returned. I'd like you to debrief Stonebridge."

"Yes sir. As you wish." Jon answered and waited for Stonebridge to appear on the bridge where he could debrief him in the privacy of his ready room..

Shuttle Bay:

“Get the gear stowed away and run the needed diagnostics on the shuttle. I want it ready for the next deployment. I’ve got a debrief to attend.” Said Stonebridge as he departed, headed for the bridge.

Jon only waited a few minutes before Stonebridge showed up on the bridge. "Lt. Stonebridge, come with me to my ready room."

He only hesitated a moment. “Yes sir. Lead the way.” Replied Stonebridge as he followed him!

Jon led the way, entering and moving around his desk to sit down. "if you would like anything from the replicator before we start, help yourself."

“Actually I’m fine and refreshed after that short trip.” As he reached for his padd. “The mission was to find info on the Cardassian movement, and I think we have. Upon arrival we made our way to the Road to Ruin Bar. There we took up strategic positions to give us a tactical advantage should things go south.” And he paused “Ten minutes after we entered the bar, a subject we pegged as an observer departed the Bar in an effort to pass on info about us! But we intercepted him and took him for questioning. I think we got what we needed.” And he passed the Padd to his XO.

Jon took the PaDD and placed it to one side, "Summarize. Tell me what's in the PaDD. Anything that pertains to the planet we just left and the Cadassians trying to take down a planets defensive grid?"

Stonebridge looked at the man as if he slapped his mother and pushed the padd back to him. “No Sir. We risked it all to bring you this information and you’re not even going to read it? If that’s the case we have nothing to talk about!” And he turned toward the door to leave.

Jon glared at the man. "Sit down Lieutenant." He snapped as he picked up the PaDD and read.

Stonebridge started talking as his boss read the report.

“We realized we were being monitored from the time we entered the bar. So we played nice and waited. Once their OP thought he had enough Intel on us he left the bar where we intercepted him outside and took him to interrogate him. After awhile he broke and told us what we wanted to know. We couldn’t very well release him so we put him on a Ghost Flight to an uncharted planet in another system with provisions to last him a week. After that he’s on his own. And if he lied to us, he's not going anywhere.” Said Stonebridge taking a well deserved breath.

“Now that we know who and what we’re looking for, if the old man will give us the ok. I’ll get with security and we can forge a plan and put this thing to bed.” Said Stonebridge finally.

Just at that moment the doors opened and Shran entered. "I assume you located the rebels and hostages" he said in a stern matter-of-fact way. "Situation report Jon."

“Yes sir. We were just discussing that very topic.” Replied Stonebridge

"Very good. Jon, you and Stonebridge take a team down to the surface to deal with the rebels and rescue those hostages. Better take Samantha along for medical purposes. Once you beam down I'll take the Washington to the far side of the planet and deal with their vessels in orbit. With luck we'll both catch them unprepared." Shran turned to leave then stopped and turned back to look at Stonebridge, "Take prisoners lieutenant. I'm certain both Star Fleet and the Cardassian authorities will want to question people." With that, Shran exited, leaving the two officers alone to discuss any details they needed to clarify.

“You heard the man. I can either lead or follow your lead. Choice is yours!” Replied Stonebridge

Jon's reply was glacial. He didn't like Stonebridge's take charge attitude. "I will lead Lieutenant. You can command your team. Dr. Howard and I will search for the hostages and retrieve them."

"They will be guarded sir. I suggest you let the security and intel team find the hostages after the breach and we can call on you and the doc for medical assistants once we have them and during the evacuation. Going it just the two of you is a sure way to get dead in my opinion." said Stonebridge.

Your opinion is noted Lieutenant. Dr. Howard and i can take care of ourselves but we will take one security officer with us." Jon answered.

“Noted” said Stonebridge
