Mission: Breen in Paradise
Location: Jon's Quarters.
Timeline: Current

Jon sat on the sofa in his quarters thinking and desperately missing Essie who was even now on her way back to Earth via a medical ship encased in a stasis pod. She was alive but her injuries were so severe that her being placed in stasis was mandated.

He had moved some of her things into his quarters so he could continue to feel her presence the rest he had carefully packed and placed in storage, breaking his heart as he did. he didn't want Essie to think he was giving up on her, he never would but the cabin needed to cleared and used for another crewman.

His face was drawn and his eyes red rimmed from the tears he had cried as well as the lack of sleep. The one positive note in this whole sorry space opera was he and Sam and grown even closer. Their friendship becoming closer as they recovered together from the injuries they had received in the MU.

Jon looked forward to visiting Sam. He enjoyed her company as well as the. conversations they had. It also served to keep his mind off Essie (for the most part) It was the nights that were the worst. He would lie down and fall asleep then the nightmare would begin. They were in the MU and on Deep Space Nine, trying to escape. Sam was injured from the mirror Shran digging around in her insides, so they moved slowly before being captured by the Intendant. He had been scarred on his face and chest but that was nothing to what was come. Essie stood before him, bloodied, her uniform torn burnt in some places, her face drawn and her eyes haggard and searching. Her arm outstretched and a solitary finger pointed at him. "Why didn't you protect me Jon? I trusted you to protect me!" She screeched at him. At that point he would wake up crying begging her forgiveness and sleep evaporated for the rest of the night. He didn't tell any of this to Sam as he didn't want to burden her with his problems. So he sat alone missing Essie and waited for the day to start it's savage cycle again.
