I have to tell you something

Mission:
Sinister Intentions
Location: Ready room

Callie had awoken the next morning feeling very definitely worse for wear, she’d gotten herself drunk on Jon’s Romulan ale, then spent the first hour or two bringing it back up again. Now it was mostly out of her system she knew what she had to do next.
Making her way to Shran’s office Callie pressed the chime and waited for permission to enter.
Shran did his best to not let the hangover he was dealing with from the previous night's frivolity interfere with his duties. He had the lights in his Ready Room slightly dimmed to help mitigate the after effects of all the Andorian ale he had consumed. The sound of the door chime was like a sonic blast reverberating through a crystal echo chamber, sending sonic darts of pain through his head. He took a moment to steady himself, including taking two very large gulps of the large water he had before him, and then finally gave the command for the door to open.
Walking in Callie offered a weary smile as she looked at Shran. “Captain, can I...talk to you? It’s...personal, but it’s something you need to know.”
"Take a seat counselor and tell me what you need to tell me" he said with as much care and concern as he could muster at this moment.
“Thank you Sir” Callie too was grateful for the lowered light level. “I needed to help Dex’s bond brother yesterday by mind melding with him. The meld has revealed more of what happened to me, but it’s...” She paused. “To put it as lightly as I can, it wasn’t just my mind that my attacker violated. It appears that he...that I was...” She paused. “That he physically violated me as well.” She took a deep breath.
Shran looked at her with compassion and concern. "This is rather serious counselor. I imagine this revelation has caused you a great deal of pain. Have you told Jon about this yet?"
Callie nodded. “Last night” She massaged her temples. “I’m afraid I...got myself a little drunk. Something I never normally do.” She paused. “Captain, I want to keep working. I’m new onboard and I have a responsibility to this crew, plus I...don’t want to sit around dwelling on things.”
Shran nodded in understanding, more in regards to the drinking than her more important requests. "Honestly counselor I don't know what to think or say on this matter. I suppose the best thing I can do all things considered is defer to your judgement. I assume you'll keep yourself under treatment with counselor Jortho to deal with any sort of psychological matters that need be considered and dealt with."
Callie nodded. “I plan to speak with Jortho next. I need to start somewhere, as much as Jon is there for me, I have to do this the right way.”
"Very well counselor. If you need to take time away though, let me know. I would understand." The Andorian sipped his water. "Anything else?"
Callie shook her head. “Nothing else Sir, thank you for understanding. I’m not going to let you down.”
""Very well. Off to the counseling office with you then" Shran said with a smile. He watched as Callie exited, hoping that she would find the way to get past this unexpected trauma. He also hoped he'd get past his own self-inflicted trauma as well as he sipped at his water.
