Stopping Off In Sickbay

After leaving the Captain, Jon's next stop was Sickbay. He needed to talk to Sam about getting something to protect him from Orion females and the pheromones they used to seduce males.

Entering he looked around for Sam, didn't see her, "Must be with Dex." He said quietly to himself. As he continued to look for her and avoid any contact with Dr. Perrin he saw a nurse he has seen before both when he was recovering and when he came the see Callie.

"Excuse me. Amethyst isn't it? I need to speak with you and do you know where Dr. Howard is? I need to see her as well."

Amethyst offered a polite smile. “Doctor Howard is currently in her office taking a well earned break Sir, she’s been working hard trying to help Lieutenant Dex. I had to insist she took a break.

Jon nodded, "Her office, excellent. I'll head there next. However, I will be leading an away team heading to the surface and we need a medic and you have been suggested. Are you game to a little adventure?"

Amethyst nodded. “Most definitely Sir! I’m a fully qualified field medic so I can be of use if needed. Is there anything I can do for you now?”

"Excellent! You did it by saying yes. Now, get what you need in the way of supplies and then go by the armory and get yourself a phaser." Jon said with a smile.

"Aye Sir." Amethyst smiled warmly. Turning to leave Sickbay she headed by her quarters to pick up her already packed medical bag.

Sam snored softly, head propped up against one palm and open medical report waiting patiently for more information. They'd worked a miracle with Dex and she was intent on documenting every detail before any of it was forgotten. Too bad her fatigue had other ideas. She still hadn't been on the ship 24 hours and hadn't slept in nearly 40.

After Amethyst had left, Jon entered Sam's office and found her sleeping. A warm smile came to his face as he looked at his friend. "Sam?" He said softly as he didn't want to scare her. "Sam?" He repeated.

" Who wha?" Sam startled as she woke, the adrenaline from years of front line medicine and being woken at all hours dumping into her system and jolting her brain awake. She looked around wildly for a moment trying to get her bearings before her eyes settled on Jon. " Oh... sorry, I was just trying to get everything down before I forgot. What's up?"

Jon gave her a lop-sided grin. "Sorry to have startled you Sam. You were sleeping good from the sound of it." He gently teased his best friend. "I'm going down to the surface. Leading an away team. Amethyst is coming with us as our medic. However, I need you to give me a shot of something that will counter act the pheromones of any Orion females we may meet."

Sam rubbed her eyes for a moment, clearing her thoughts before heading to the replicator and ordering up a potent combination that should work. "Ok this should do the trick, however you won't be able to smell or taste anything for the next few days, works a treat on pheromones though" The Doctor retorted, injecting Jon in the neck and pressing a booster into his hand " And some back up - just in case. Send the rest of your team here for innoculations before you beam down"

"Thanks Sam." Jon said gratefully to his friend. I'm sure this will help. The only other person who will need to see you is Ravencroft. All the other members of the away team are females. Captain's idea." Jon finished in a grin.

"Interesting, although my cautious side is saying that everyone should be innoculated, regardless of their gender. I'll meet your team in the transporter room to finish the job" Sam explained, replicating more hyposprays.

"You're the doctor Sam. So, I'll follow your recommendation. Let's get to the transporter room." Jon declared. Holding on to the booster in his hand.

"Oh. now you're going to listen to me?" Sam chuckled. As the pair reached the transporter room, she gave Ravencroft a shot and a booster as well as giving L'Rissa and the other woman making up the away team shots as well. Once done, she turned to Jon. "Good hunting, be safe and you all come back to us." Then she was gone, back to Sickbay and her patients.

Jon looked to where Sam had been for a moment then nodded to the transporter chief. "Energize." A instant later the away team was gone.
