Time with Callie

Posted on Sat Apr 23rd, 2022 @ 4:29pm by Commander Jonathan Grayson & Lieutenant Commander Callie Raven-Grayson

Mission: Jupiter Mystery
Location: Callie's Office
Timeline: Current

After leaving Sickbay, Jon paused a small smile coming to his face. He knew where he wanted to go, to see Callie, his wife, best friend, lover and confidant. He headed down the corridor to her office, looked around and didn't see anyone so he slipped in.

"Knock, knock Callie. I'm not interrupting anything am I?"

Callie smiled a gleaming smile as she looked towards Jon. “Not at all, it’s a quiet day but I’m supposed to be taking it easy anyway aren’t I?” She walked over to him giving him a loving kiss. “How goes everything? I’ll admit I miss not being on the away team.”

Jon returned her kiss with a quiet passion. "Yes, you are." He replied when the kiss broke. "Everything is going fine. I miss you on the away team Callie but it's for both your own good and the baby." he smiled brilliantly when he said it. A' baby Callie!, We're having a baby. A girl according to Dex."

Callie’s smile practically shone, “I know! It’s so exciting!! I plan to go do some more baby shopping next time we’re on Shoreleave!” She motioned him to sit on the sofa with her. “Don’t you mean Travis now rather than Dex?”

He nodded as he sat down on the couch next to her., "Yes Travis. Have to get use to the name change." He smiled again, "Yes, clothes to buy, a crib, bassinet, a hundred other things. This is an exciting time Callie."

Callie nodded in agreement. “Very exciting! I would like to be able to get off ship on the occasions when we find no danger. That’s if you’ll let me? I’ll stay at your side at all times, that’s a promise!” She offered a smile.

Jon smiled and nodded, "I think that can be arranged Callie. As long as you stay by my side and don't go wandering off. Don't want anything happening to you or the baby."

“I know that” Callie nodded. “Hence why I said ‘safe’ away missions.” She gestured quotation marks as she said safe. That’s if Shran goes for it at the time. Anyway, what mysteries are you busy finding out there right now?”

"I know you do. I'm just teasing you. We're preparing a small away team to go to the Jupiter and see what happened to the crew." We'll be going over in environmental suits."

Callie looked concerned. “Is it dangerous? Is there something there that could infect you?”

Jon squeezed Callie's hand. "Dangerous? Unknown Callie and that's the reason for the suits. Now don't you get to worrying. It isn't good for you or the baby. Everything will be fine."

Callie nodded. “Sorry, I’m just feeling out of the loop. I’ve been here the whole time you’ve been away, tell me what’s happened so far. The shortened version will be fine.”

"Callie, you aren't out of the loop. I'll tell you anything you want to know. As to what is going on. We've located the Jupiter. She's in a decaying orbit and according to sensors, half her crew is missing. The half has very low life signs. So, that's the reason for the away team and the environ suits."

Callie nodded. “Thank you, it all sounds very odd. Knowing Shon she’s enjoying the whole mystery part of this.”

Jon nodded, "Eating it up with a spoon." He agreed. "She can't wait to get over there."

“I bet!” Callie grinned. “I’ll be heading up to the bridge after I’m finished here so at least I can keep abreast of the news from you all from there.”

"Excellent Callie. Shran can use your experience and insight on the bridge. In addition, as you said you can keep up with what's going on." Jon stated with a smile.

“I love a good mystery as much as the rest of you” Callie grinned as she picked up her drink off the coffee table and sipped it. She also had a small tray of food to nibble on.

"I know that, so do this. Try to piece together what happened on the Jupiter from what you see and hear as well as what is being reported. it will keep you in the loop." Jon finished as he reached for one of the snacks on the tray.

Callie nodded. “I’ll do that. Do they have any patients in Sickbay that might need to talk to someone?”

"I'm sure they do Callie however we haven't gone over to ascertain their true status, so everything is a guess right now."

Callie nodded. “Okay no doubt they’ll let me know when, or if they need me. I’ll stay out of the way until I'm called.”

"Callie, you are never in the way. You are the chief counselor. You need to be kept up to date on what is happening. Go to the bridge, you'll be a comfort to Shran." Jon answered.

“Me? A comfort to the Captain?” Callie couldn’t help but grin. “I don’t think Shran needs comfort.”

"Callie, you are a senior officer and your experience and presence is a comfort to him." Jon insisted with smile.

“Of course” Callie nodded and smiled. “I’m sorry, I’m just feeling a little like I’m more of an encumbrance to Shran. He didn’t seem very pleased about my being pregnant in the first place, though it did happen pretty quick after... prior events.” She sighed. “I will head to the bridge, you just take care out there!”

"You aren't an encumbrance Callie as for being pregnant, it just took him by surprise is all. Go to the bridge and you can see firsthand what is going on and as far as being safe, you can count it." Jon promised with a smile.

“Good” Callie leant forward and kissed him on the cheek. “I’ll be waiting when you get back, and there’s plenty more where this came from...” she kissed him passionately.

Jon returned the kiss with passion and smile, "I certainly hope so Callie!"

“You’ll just have to hurry back and see” Callie grinned. “Now get going, I’d hate for you to be late.”

Jon gave her a mock salute. "Aye, Aye Captain Callie ma'am! I hear and obey." Jon bantered as he got ready to go but not before giving Callie another kiss.

Callie returned his kiss before standing up ready to head out with him and make her way to the bridge.

"Callie, don't worry. I'll be back in no time, and we can pick up where we left off." Jon said with a grin.

Callie nodded. “I’ll hold you to that.”

"I'd be extremely disappointed if you didn't Callie." Jon bantered back.
