Mission: Living History
Location: Quarters

With the temporal investigations people gone, Callie and Jon made their way to speak with Shran about their change of circumstances. Pausing out by the door Callie offered Jon a nervous smile as she reached to press the chime.

"Oh, push the chime Callie, Shran isn't going to bite you." Jon teased.

“Easy for you to say! You’re the Exec!” Callie grinned as she pressed it.

Jon grinned, "Okay, he isn't going to bite me and I won't let him bite you either darling."

Shran was in his quarters discussing what had happened on the mission with Deanna, as well as what had happened with Temporal Investigations. Both of them seemed worn out from the neurotic questioning they had endured. As they continued to talk the door chimed. Shran got up and went to the door. "Good evening. What brings you to my abode?"

Walking inside with Jon, Callie offered a polite smile. “Apologies for disturbing you Captain, Deanna. Actually we have some news.” She looked at Jon, then back at Shran. “It appears that our family has grown, Shon has picked up twins on my latest scan.”

"Hello Captain, Deanna." Jon added and continued. "So, we'd like to request a transfer to family size quarters. We're going to need the extra space."

"Congratulations to you both" Shran began, "When is the joyful event to occur?"

“I’m currently fifteen weeks, so approximately another five months Sir.” Callie smiled warmly.

Jon smiled brightly, "So, we need to move before the twins arrive."

Deanna smiled and got up giddily. "Oh my, how lovely. You must be so happy. Congratulations."

Shran looked to Jon, "I'm sure we can get you into bigger quarters. Thankfully you have some time to allow for adjustments."

“It’s a good job we do!” Callie grinned. “It came as something of a surprise when Shon told me. As a Betazoid I’m supposed to be able to feel my unborn children in a way only expectant mother’s do, but I guess it takes a little practice.”

"You'll begin to telepathically bond with them very soon" Deanna replied.

“I can’t wait” Callie grinned as she looked at Deanna, before looking back at Shran. “With regards to away missions Sir, if it’s safe to do so I’d still like to go on away party duty. Shon has cleared me for it.”

"As long as there is no danger to Callie and the twins. I'm not opposed sir. As I lead most away missions, I'll have the final say who also goes unless of course you override my choices." Jon added.

“I will, of course, abide by whatever decision you make Sir.” Callie offered a hopeful smile.

"Sounds like everything is well in hand" Shran replied smoothly. "Since you are both here, let me ask how you are handling the aftermath of this recent away mission and the subsequent dealings with Temporal Investigations? Deanna and I were discussing before you arrived."

Callie looked at Shran. “To be honest, before I spoke with Deanna about Maddison I was finding it hard to deal with. Thanks to Deanna I’ve found it easier, as for Temporal investigations, I know they’re only doing their jobs, but I’m glad they’re gone.”

Jon shook his head, "Maddison was a cancer and had to be dealt with and we did. I have no qualms about what we did. We preserved the future. As for Temporal Investigations. the less said the better. I agree with Callie, I am glad they are gone."

"I think we all agree that we are happy to be done with Temporal Investigations" Deanna said with a sly grin. "I think they are getting to be as tired of seeing us as we are of them."

"Indeed" Shran agreed. "I'm glad you have made your peace with everything Callie. I know it was difficult for you and Shon in particular."

Callie nodded. “Maddison had me believing that he knew something important. In reality all he wanted was to use me to escape. Ever feel like a fool Captain? Because I know I do.”

"It is something that can happen easily in intelligence work. Sadly this was a little more personal" Shran replied.

"You shouldn't feel bad about what happened" Deanna said in a comforting way. "I understand that the greatest betrayal of all is those that come from family, but Maddison was someone from our shared future. He wanted to change the past in hopes of altering the future, but I believe the changes he sought were never to be, and likely his actions may have actually altered the future in ways he hadn't predicted, all which may make him better."

Callie nodded. “I guess now we know of him, and a possible future, it could be changed simply because it hasn’t happened yet. If that makes sense?” She smiled warmly.

"I'm glad it is behind us." Jon said simply, then looked to Callie. "Don't feel like a fool Callie. You aren't. Your compassion is what makes you such a great counselor. You care about everyone even an SOB like Maddison."

Callie smiled the warmest smile yet as she looked at her husband. “Thank you Imzadi.”

"You are very much welcome darling." Jon answered with a smile of his own.

"Well if there is nothing else, perhaps we all can have a meal. I'm sure we can have a nice meal in the captain's mess" Shran offered.

"That is an excellent idea sir. I'm all for that. What about you Callie?"

Callie nodded and smiled, “That sounds like a wonderful idea. To be honest I’m famished!”

"Very good. We can continue the discussion there" Shran replied as they exited his quarters.
