Continuing Peace Talks

Location: USS Washington

Shran had stayed behind to speak with Shon as Jon and Callie went to continue the mediation of peace talks. Before they left the bridge however, Deanna stopped them to speak with her superior. "Jon, a moment if I may. It seems a great many seemed to be a bit more vexed than I would expect during these peace talks. Is there anything I need to be made aware of? I have been sensing a great deal of panic, anger, angst among much of the crew, along with powerful minds that are foreign, and not the Kilrathi."

Jon looked at Callie, "Excuse me a moment Callie." As he motioned Deanna to follow him to corner. He spoke in a low tone. "I think what you are sensing Deanna is the crew dealing with Hela's reappearance. Shon especially is stressed with Hela's return and Inara also has had tense run ins with Hela."

"So that spiteful goddess has returned to torment us. That certainly explains one of the powerful minds I am sensing, as well as the panic, anger, and angst amongst the crew. I'm sure Callie has been feeling the same." Deanna considered her words before continuing, "Jon, I am sensing several powerful minds, not just that of Hela. Might we have become a nexus for these strange entities?"

Jon considered Deanna's words carefully before he replied. "Shon is extremely agitated. Inara I think is just mad at, with Hela. As for the several powerful minds you are sensing. We may have indeed become a nexus. Which brings us to the next question. How do we stop it?"

"I will review our past mission files regarding these entities. We managed to stop Loki, perhaps we can do something about Hela as well" Deanna replied. "You focus on the peace talks Jon. I'm sure the captain would say that those are the most important thing at this time."

"I think you are right Deanna. Callie and I can handle the colonists and the Kilrathi. You see what you can do to limit the entities wanting to make the Washington their playground."

Callie stood waiting for Jon as he spoke with Deanna. She was sensing the same thing as Deanna, but she had to keep her mind focused to be able to continue the talks.

Deanna made her way to a station at the back of the bridge while Jon returned to Callie in the turbolift. As they left, she began accessing all information they had regarding the last encounter they had with the entities, specifically Loki. She hoped that something in the files might at least give them some sort of defense against Hela.

"Keep me apprised of anything you find that we can use Deanna. Anything at all, no matter how trivial it might seem" Jon said as he returned to Callie. "Ready to once again go into the breech Callie?" As they entered the turbolift.

“As always Jon” Callie nodded. “It’ll be good to see these talks through, all the hard work will be worth it.”

"I couldn't agree more Callie. We're a great team and between the two of us we can keep the colonists and the Kilrathi on track and get a meaningful peace agreement between them." Jon replied.

The Kilrathi delegation was approaching the conference room with security. Garawl acknowledged Jon and Callie. "Glad to have your people mediating these talks."

"Thank you General. We want to achieve an agreement that addresses the concerns of both sides and builds a solid base of respect and trust." Jon answered sincerely.

"You have begun such things. I will hold you to continuing to build both" Garawl replied.

"With your help along with that of the colonists, I am sure we can achieve that goal General." Jon answered.

"We shall see Commander" Garawl said with a wry smirk as he entered the conference room.

As they entered, the colonial delegation was already seated and discussing something amongst themselves. The ceased talking and rose in acknowledgement of everyone returning. "We are prepared to discuss the terms to complete this treaty."

Jon looked at Callie and then back to the sisters, "That is encouraging and welcomed news ladies." He glanced at Garawl, "General, what do you have to say?"

"We too are prepared to complete the treaty" Garawl replied.

"Shall we continue then" Piper said diplomatically.

"By all means" Callie smiled as she took her seat. "Let's get this treaty sorted and working for you all."
