Keeping The Home Fires Burning

2000 hours

Seth was in his and Shon's quarters, he had just finished changing their newborn daughter one Sage Marjorie Travis, who lay in her crib cooing and smiling up at him. Thankfully Shasta was there to help him when she wasn't in school.

Reaching down, Seth picked Sage up. "Come on little one, let's go and Daddy will rock you for a bit while I try not to worry about your mother." Truth was that was easier said than done. Seth was worried about Shon, ever since Hela took their newborn son as payment for returning Shasta to them.

Now she was on an away mission and was missing. He tried to remain positive and hopeful to keep dark, depressing thoughts at bay. Holding Sage helped but every so often his mind wandered, and he prayed Shon would be found and that she would be alright. He looked down at Sage, "Your mom is going to be alright, and you'll see her soon. However, for now, you have to deal with me and your big sister Shasta and know we love you very much." As he spoke, he rocked Sage gently singing a lullaby softly to her.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high,
like a diamond in the sky. Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
When the blazing sun is set, and the grass with dew is wet. Then you show your little

Then the traveler in the dark thanks you for your tiny spark. How could he see where to
go if you did not twinkle so? Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are.
As your bright and tiny spark lights the traveler in the dark, though I know not what you
are, twinkle, twinkle, little star. Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are."

Yet even as he sang, Seth prayed that Shon, his beloved Shon would be returned to him unharmed, and they could continue to be a family.
