Mission: Lost & Found
Location: USS Washington

Callie and Jon had retreated to the captain's ready room in hopes that Callie might be able to make contact with someone on the planetoid telepathically. Sam was working with Inara on analysis of the biogenic radiation amongst other things at this point. And Deanna was working on a more tactical equation at this point, as they sought out a way to get to the planetoid and rescue Shon, or so was the hope.

"Any response from the hails?" questioned Shran.

"No sir. They remain silent" Ayana replied. "But they have ceased their bombardment of our shields at least, ever since we forced the planetoid out of the cloak."

"Continue all scans. Boost the power to the sensors if need be. And continue hails. We need to get these entities to speak with us" Shran commented.

Inara concentrated focusing on her telepathy. "I am hearing something, but I can't make it out. I need to get closer."

Inside the captain's ready room, Jon watched Callie as she concentrated on picking up any of the alien's thoughts as well as maybe finding out about Shon.

"Captain, do we have any wriggle room to get closer?" Sam asked as she monitored Inara and continued to try and solve the biogenics issue.

Callie was trying her hardest to reach out, to find and link with someone telepathic. To try and get some information if she could. She sighed as she opened her eyes and looked at Jon. “I’m not sure if I can do this Jon!”

"Move us in closer helm, nice and slowly" Shran ordered.

"Aye sir" replied L'Rissa from the helm.

Deanna continued working at her station, then suddenly she stopped, seizing up for a moment. Suddenly she spoke, "Shon..."

Shon woke, her vision hazy. “I’ll be there in a minute Seth,” she called and turned over in bed. She sighed and felt all was right with the world. Birdsong filled the tree outside and the sunshine flooded the room. The sound of the sea was a far off murmur. “Mom, mom!” She turned over in bed to see Shasta shaking her,

“Shon, Shon it’s Deanna.”

Shon wondered why Deanna from the Washington would be calling her after so many years since she left to go and live on Earth.

“Deanna?” She said sleepily.

Deanna attempted to speak with Shon telepathically. "You aren't where you think you are Shon. You are being held by alien entities, and they are hostile. We are trying to get to you. They have you on a planetoid and we are just outside. We need you to help us get to you."

On the ship, Deanna looked as if she was having a seizure. "Sam!" Shran exclaimed as he rushed towards Deanna.

Sam moved quickly over to Deanna, grabbing her medkit and quickly placing it on the floor where it would be handy. Popping open the kit she grabbed a tricorder and began taking readings.

"She's going into neuroleptic shock. The alien entities must be working to prevent her from reaching Shon and the stress will damage her mind if we let it continue for too long" She prepped a hypospray "This will provide some pain relief but I don't want to break the telepathy in case it creates more damage."

In the Ready Room Callie sensed something was wrong. “There’s something wrong!” She got up and headed back out onto the bridge seeing Shran rushing towards Deanna.

"Callie!" Jon exclaimed as his wife got up and rushed back onto the bridge, "What the hell?" He wondered as he followed her out and on to the bridge.

Shon struggled to understand what Deanna was saying, the connection sounded like it was fading in and out from so far away it was almost inaudible. It was also like waking from the best dream ever. Outside the pod the aliens were debating whether to terminate her neural energy. They didn't like to end their study subjects but these bipeds with their disgusting ways were an increasing danger to them.

"Deanna!" Shon exclaimed coming out of her dream. " The aliens have me in a storage facility deep underground. There are thousands of beings here. The aliens study their neural energy and find out about them by making them dream. They definitely do not like humanoids and are very dangerous, Deanna, Deanna! are you there?"

Deanna, despite the physical and neurological trauma she was experiencing, remained connected to Shon. "We are here Shon. You have to fight against them. Help us get to you."

On the ship Deanna was beginning to convulse violently. "We have to do something" Shran said urgently to Sam. He looked to Callie, "Can you connect with her telepathically? Perhaps help her break the connection."

Sam could see things were taking a turn for the worst and prepared a potent sedative that would knock Deanna out cold and allow her mind to rest. "Deanna, If you can hear me I need to sedate you for your own well being" she said firmly, one hand on top of the convulsing woman and the other poised with a hypospray.

Shon felt the connection go dormant and she knew something was happening to Deanna. Now fully awake and aware she began to look for a way out of the pod. The Hereshi seemed to be standing on a stage like platform discussing what to do then left. She began to beat and kick on the pod and was encouraged when the glass like substance began to split. Shon presumed as the occupants of the pods were dreaming the ‘pods’ did not need such a level of security. She took a deep breath took her emotion outside herself and kicked. The pod cover exploded in a shower of fine particles, and she scrambled out, breathing heavily.

She tried her comm once more and static bounced back at her. She walked to the platform to look at a ranged control panel that appeared to control the pods, not having any idea and sure that a mistake might destroy the other occupants. Shon tried calling Deanna again with no effect. Then she remembered Callie. “Nothing ventured” she exclaimed to herself. Shon closed her eyes and began to control her breathing picturing Callie in her mind. Time seemed to slow, and she felt her pulse lessen as her heart rate slowed. “Callie, Callie can you hear me it’s Shon”.

On the Washington, Deanna opened her eyes, the convulsions beginning to subside. She attempted to glance in Callie's direction and sent her a brief telepathic message, "Shon is alive." Her mind beyond taxed, her eyes closed as the medication Sam was giving her took full effect and she drifted into a deep medically induced slumber.

Sam carefully monitored what was happening with a tricorder and dared to breathe a sigh of relief. "She'll be all right in a few hours. Her mind needs to rest and recover." She made a quick call to sickbay and then beamed both herself and Deanna there.

Shon had given up trying to contact Callie and as Deanna had also gone quiet she knew she was on her own. Shrugging her shoulders she began to press the controls. A strident alarm began to ring. “Oh of course!” She said. Steps announced the arrival of a Hereshi.

They looked at each other for a second then Shon acted. She grabbed him in a neck lock. “Turn this alarm off or you will not breathe any more!” The Hereshi obviously valued his life and stretched his two fingers onto the controls and the alarm ceased.

He was obviously scared and Shon’s caring instincts came to the fore. “I will not hurt you if you do what I say, nod your head if you understand me?” He nodded. Shon relaxed her hard grip on his neck. “If I let you go you will not try to run? I can kill you with one finger.” She added.

His eyes opened wide, “how?” He asked questioning.

Despite herself Shon smiled. “Never mind” she said in a hard voice. I want you to turn off the forcefield surrounding this complex and open all these pods.”

“I cannot do that human, to open the pods the collective mind of the Hereshi is needed.”

“The turn the forcefield off, NOW”.

He nodded and once again stretched his finger out. “I have done as you asked now tell me how you can kill me with one of your fingers?”

“This is much better” Shon said as she applied her hand to his neck hoping that it would work. The Hereshi crumpled and Shon laid him down gently thanking Surak it had worked. She tried her communicator =/\= This is Lieutenant Commander Travis, can anyone hear me?”

Callie wasn’t sure if she’d heard Shon’s voice or not, but she looked towards Shran. “Deanna said Shon is alive, I’m not sure but...” she looked in surprise as the officer on comms made an announcement.

"Captain, the shielding around the planetoid is coming down. We can transport" Ayana said. "I can't differentiate our people form all the other biosigns. Thousands of biosigns I recognize, thousands I don't."

"Jon, take a security team. Bring Shon back, and anyone else that you believe is being held captive" Shran said as he looked at his XO.

"Yes sir." Jon replied already moving towards the lift. "Ayana, you're with me. Grab a couple more security guards equip them with both phasers and phaser rifles and let's go collect Shon and whoever else we can.

Ayana nodded and made her way to the turbolift. She hit her comm badge, =^=Tactical team to transporter room 2, full assault gear. =^=

They headed to the transporter room, stopping along the way at a weapons locker to gather weapons themselves.
