The Time Gestapo

Mission: The Andromeda Strain
Location: Conference Room.

Inara entered with Josie. She looked at the captain and the two Temporal Affairs agents. Inara stared at them with contempt. "You know those dated gestapo uniforms you're wearing do not intimidate me. What do you two want?"

"We're here about Josephine Carlyle." One of them noted.

"She is not going to reveal anything to anyone about the future." Inara mentioned.

"Time travel is still a crime, and her presence here is a violation of the temporal prime directive. Lieutenant Senn." One of them mentioned.

"Temporal prime directive? The Federation couldn't even get the original prime directive figured out. It's a backwards philosophy that should have never left Vulcan."

Shran gave a soft chuckle. He understood the sentiment. "Inara, while I may not disagree with you, it is the regulations. We'll have to do something about it."

"Then arrest Danu, she's the one responsible for bringing her here." Inara mentioned. "I don't know why you two are here. You probably have your report, but instead of doing something interesting, you bother us."

Shran gave a loud snort.

The investigators looked at Shran. "Who is this Danu?"

Shran chuckled yet again. "Just the Celtic mother goddess. By all means, let's see if we can get her here and have you tell her what she can and cannot do."

"So why are you here?" Inara noted.

"Lieutenant, we can't have two of the same persons here in the same timeline." Inara shook her head. "Then we will give her a new identity. Does that make your over bosses happy, because I'm out that door over there in ten seconds if you don't have anything more pressing. I have projects going on in science." Inara seemed less confrontational and insubordinate but had not lost her feistiness."

The two looked at each other and then nodded. "A new identity, agreed."

Good, I'll work out the details.

"Glad we have this all worked out. We'll be in touch with you gentlemen" Shran chimed in.
