Inara Vs. Deanna Round 1

690 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Wounds From the Mirror
Location: Science Lab

Inara was in her lab, working on the unique holomatrix she had found. She almost did not notice the door open in her lab.

Jas came in, followed by another. "So, working and paying no attention to all that is happening around you. Everything your record indicates" the blonde woman stated flatly, her voice a bit hoarse.

"Hey Jas... You know me. Wait...." Inara turned with a smile and then stopped. Walking up to her. She focused her thoughts on her. There was a twinge of something hostile in this woman before her. "No... Jas knows me quite well. She doesn't need records." She took cover and pulled the false heel off her shoe. Pulling out a small phaser.

"Who are you? I know my companion more than you can even imagine, and she doesn't need a record to know me. Who are you? And I can say this, The Jas I know is not a killer."

Jas looked at Inara, trying to signal her that she had a disruptor firmly pushed against her ribs in the small of her back. Deanna smiled, "Insolent. I like that. I bet you'll give me more sport than some of your colleagues. I hoped that I might find my counterpart here, but finding you is just as well. I bet you live for your work. Would you be alright if I destroyed the console you are working on? What about if I spread the contents of your precious Jas all over this lab?"

"Oh, if you were to do that or kill my partner, I guarantee you, you will not leave this ship alive." Inara mentioned. "Neither me nor my partner will do a standoff. You shoot her. I will immediately kill you before you can flee, and I have found that cowards take hostages." Inara mentioned. "So, explain to me why you're here?"

Jas waited for her chance; she needed this woman to grow overconfident so she could get a kick in.

"That almost sounded truthful. You like to sound tough, make others uncomfortable to gain the edge. Everyone in this universe is so predictable" the Mirror said before firing her disruptor twice in rapid succession, the first shot pointblank into Jas, the second hitting Inara squarely in the chest. With both bodies now on the ground after being stunned, she looked around. The room was fairly spartan, nothing of real interest to her. She pulled out her communication device and spoke to someone, and then walked over, kicked the weapon away from Inara that was still in her hand, and then gave her a swift kick to the face for good measure.

She looked over at Jas on the floor and fired again, and then again, hitting her twice more on stun. It wouldn't kill her, but she'd be in serious shape and need medical attention, which amused Mirror Deanna, as she was aware that she had removed the medical staff from sickbay already. She reset the disruptor to a higher setting and fired a few times randomly at different things she saw in the lab, and then she and Inara were beamed out, leaving Jas unconscious, in need of medical assistance, in a lab that was suddenly in need of a damage control team.

They materialized aboard the Saber, ironically in the sickbay. The room was freezing, literally, as frost seemed to cover most surfaces. Inara was placed on a biobed and a restraining field activated. Deanna looked over at the Vulcan doctor she had toyed with earlier in the Washington sickbay. She was unconscious, her body mangled, obvious signs that Shran had been working on her. She smiled as she looked back at Inara, "Perhaps I will have to do some catch up work on you." She took a hypo and injected Inara, putting her to sleep as well.

She looked on the opposite side of the biobed Inara was on and saw the body. She vaguely recognized this one, the patient she had allowed the doctor to work on. Well, no need for further work now. She chuckled sadistically. Oh, they were going to have so much fun.
