Having returned from the Breen base with a thankfully intact team and four live children and one body I have found myself unable to sleep or meditate despite Puss’s help. We have only just begun to examine them which is very slow going. They have been traumatised to such an extent that even to extract their names has been traumatic for them. It is going to take a while to build up trust with them. I have been working on removing the radioactive Celebium from the Aenar Hybrid, the work is slow because she is so young and the virus replication without her immune system has done some damage which I am not sure I can repair. We need to name her though.
The little human boy has told us his name is ‘Harry’. But he is unable to tell us where he comes from. He is physically fine but mentally we do not yet know.
The pregnant Denobulan teenager is also withdraw and we have not yet been able to elicit her name. She allowed me to scan her pregnancy and I was able to confirm it is a Breen foetus. She will not tell me how it was conceived but I can obtain some answers from her demeanour. She is very afraid of males and reacts violently if a male nurse approaches her which leads me to think she was violated.
The Vulcan child’s name is T’chla she is also untouched. The little Ciatian body is in our storage facility until we can arrange a funeral for her although I know very little about Ciatian rites. I wish we could find her family.
I cannot reconcile the fact that doctors did this to these children, I feel ashamed that those who have taken the oath of healing would become so indifferent to the truth of their oaths.
I cannot sleep, I cannot eat, I cannot meditate and I wish I could ‘unsee all of this’. I will need to speak to Sam about something to help me sleep at least. Currently I am unable to help her or Callie if they need me. [Thanks to Dr Seuss for the title]
