Mission: Sabotage
Location: Mars mission Ship, Hospital
Timeline: 21st Century (Flashback), Present Day

Ensign Phoenix walked into a storage room in the hospital to organize some crates and boxes of medical supplies. The area he was in, had enough room to hold more than what he was given to store in there. He kept his phaser pistol on its holster as a precaution. While they had pretty much taken down the Cardassians that invaded the town, he didn't want to take a chance, so he made sure to watch his back every once and a while. However, one specific box was decently heavy. Unfortunately, the box slipped out of one of his hands and caused James to lose his balance, resulting in him falling to the ground, which caused a loud crashing sound as the collision occurred. Then, once he hit the ground, he drifted off.....

There was a loud noise blaring. He didn’t wake up at first, but it got louder, causing James to wake up. Oh. It was just his alarm clock. He placed his hand over the “off” button, and shut it off. Time to start my day, he thought. As he was getting dressed, he looked out the window of his “quarters”, and pondered over when the ship would get to Mars. While it was fast, it wasn't as fast as some ships in science fiction movies, but it was still highly advanced. There was even experimental artificial gravity, and experimental cryo-stasis tubes to preserve their food. He yawned and walked over to his laptop in his small room, and pressed a button and started a journal entry. “Observer James Phoenix journal entry 65. This mission is definitely an extraordinary leap of faith for man-kind to say the least. So much technology, and money has gone into an expedition to colonize Mars. So much could go wrong, but at the same time if we succeed and continue going down this path, who knows what could happen. But then again, this is only the start”. Then over the ship-wide comm system, there was an announcement: Attention crew, can James Phoenix and Ashlynn Regan please report to the flight deck? The announcement ended. James continued his entry. “Welp, duty calls I guess? Guess I got to go find Ash”. He tapped a button on his computer to stop the journal entry. Then he threw on a Nasa shirt, and some random jeans. At least there wasn't a specific dress code, James decided. He understood that for a while once they got to Mars, that he’d have to wait for many things again until artificial gravity and life support was installed in the area that they were colonizing. Little did he know, he’d have a long wait. He came out of his room, making his way to the bridge. However, he wasn’t paying attention and tripped and fell right in front of his best friend’s room. He groaned in pain, as the door opened. Great, she’s never gonna let me live this one down, is she, James thought.

Present Day

James blinked awake as if he were confirming something impossible that he just saw, but then he came to realize that it was a flashback, particularly one that affected him a decent amount. While it caught him off guard, he had this exact one before, many times in fact, but those were in his academy days. He pondered over the fact that it had been a couple of years since his last one, and why it had been happening again. Perhaps, it's been because there have been more and more rumors about the other person who had a similar experience to him. He grabbed onto one of the crates that hadn't been organized yet, and stood up. Luckily, nothing was damaged. After he reorganized the crate, he scanned himself with his tricorder, to see if there was any damage done. The scan came back a second later: nothing severe, just a couple of scratches. He sighed in relief, and continued organizing the room.
