Shran followed the other officers into the conference room for the scheduled debriefing. He was interested in what his officers had to report regarding Ivor Prime. It wasn't every day that one visited a colony world the Borg had destroyed, let alone one the Federation decided to rebuild. He could sense strong emotions from at least a few of those assembled.

As he sat down he looked to Jon, "So, what was your assessment of the colony?"

"They have made incredible progress sir. It's amazing what they have accomplished. If you didn't know you would never have guessed the colony was basically destroyed."

"Interesting. My understanding was that the colony had to rebuild virtually from scratch. Less than a dozen of the original colonists survived the Borg attack, and StarFleet attributes that to the fact that the Borg were pushing quickly at the time to get to Earth. The team from the Lexington that investigated after the fact found very little besides the survivors. Do you think the surviving colonists that decided to remain have integrated well enough to the rebuilt colony?"

"They appear so sir but I'll let Essie and Samantha answer you this is much more in their fields than mine." Jon answered gracefully.

Shran nodded. "Very well commander." He turned and looked to the other side of the table where the medical officers were seated. "Doctor? Counselor?"

Sam took a breath before addressing the Captain and the rest of the team, ordering her thoughts so they made sense to everyone - not just her.

" The colonists have done a remarkable job rebuilding. I understand they received the standard Federation assistance after the attack, but what they have done from there is amazing. They certainly don't need any further assistance that I can see and are quiet proud of what they have accomplished."

Estella waited until after Doctor Howard had finished her observations. "The colonists have shown themselves to be unified, and quite resilient," she paused. "Resourceful too, given what they have achieved despite such limitations."

Shran nodded. "Well they certainly have increased security for the planet. I haven't seen anything quite this heavily defended by automated defense platforms since the Dominion War. How would you assess the tactical situation Sachzny?"

Looking at the assembled personnel, Sachzny shook her head. "It looks very impressive, and may even deter some from attacking. But from what I have learned about the ........Borg? I doubt it would last very long". She turn to Shran, "Most of the defense is not integrated, one system does not deploy or interact with another thus it is vulnerable". She looked at the others, "I speak with the knowledge of one who has been invaded, this system is not what it appears. I would not wish it for my home worlds, not without much modification".

Shran nodded. "An interesting assessment. I look forward to your recommendations addendum to the final report before we send it off to StarFleet." He looked around, wondering if anything else needed to be said at this point. "Well, roughly 2 days before we reach our next mission site. I know a planetary survey for colonization seems boring, but it is necessary. We are exiting Federation space and going into unclaimed territory. Considering we are shaking down the ship after all the upgrades and repairs, this is a fine time to check and double check things. I won't keep any of you any longer. Dismissed."
