Mizu to go?

Mission: The Orion Syndicate
Location: Holodeck USS Washington
Timeline: On the way to Orion

Dex had had a busy day overseeing sickbay and delegating positions for the medical and nursing staff when they were on mission. The drill for casualties went well and she was happy with everyone’s performance. Of course she knew that in reality things could change very quickly. She had arranged a part of sickbay designated for enemy combatants and had made sure they had supplies of Orion blood and that everybody was well versed in Orion anatomy. Male members of sickbay would not be looking after any female Orions.

After the end of shift she felt she needed a little romance and thought it would be a good idea to share a night looking up at the stars. It had taken her quite a while to reproduce the lake, the surroundings and the night sky they had visited on Mizu. The fire was lit, the tent was there and a picnic of delicacies lay ready. She just hoped that Seth would be free and wanted to spend some time with her in case something happened. She tapped her communicator, =/\= Dex to Lieutenant Travis=/\=

The reply was instant. =^= Travis here Shon, Whay can i do for you sweetheart?=^=

=/\= I was wondering if you had a couple of hours to spare this evening to revisit an old haunt of ours on holodeck 4=/\=

"Say no more, I am on my way!" Seth replied and in a few minutes he was at holodeck 4. Stepping in he found it was an exact replica of Mizu the planet he and Dex visited not so long ago,

She stood, went over to him and kissed him softly. “I am so glad to see you my love. I thought it would be nice to spend a few hours in a place where we were happy.” She frowned and walked to the lakeside and sat down in front of the fire.

"It's a fantastic idea Shon! I love it and you." Seth gushed as he returned the kiss.

“I managed to light a fire all on my own, without the uses of a weapon!” She smiled at the memory. The waters of the lake looked calm and inviting. “Fancy a swim before supper?”
She asked already slipping off her clothes.

"You go Shon!" He said proudly. Then in the next breath added, "Don't have to ask me twice." As he began to peel off his clothes.

She entered the water and dived in swimming under and out towards the middle she knew she needed to speak to him about serious matters but wanted a little happiness first. She owed it to the both of them. She surfaced and looked for him but she could not see him.

He had swum underwater and surfaced beside her. "Here I am Shon."

She put her arms round his shoulders and drew them together, they trod water as she cupped his face in her hands. “Seth I wanted to ask you something. This new mission is going to be dangerous. I want you to know that if I am lost or killed then I need to make you my next of kin. I have land, a house and holdings on Vulcan and the same on Risa which I want to make yours. I have a bad feeling about the next few weeks,” her eyes filled with tears.

"No, stop it. I don't want to hear that kind of talk. I have a better idea. Let's get married. We'll make out a will and leave what we have to each other. how does that sound?"

“Seth we have to discuss this…” she paused for a second thinking that she must have misheard. “Did you just ask me to marry you?” She stopped treading water and sank immediately. Confused and shocked she turned and swam back to shore emerging and sitting down in front of the fire waiting for him.

"So let's talk about and yes I did." Seth said with conviction as Shon swam back to shore. He followed her, got out of the water and sat next to her, not saying a word just sat next to her waiting for her to speak.

The sunset over the lake red fire turned almost immediately black and as she stars began to shine she looked at him. “Risans marry for life Seth so this is a forever commitment, you have to be willing to put up with the things that my Risan heritage makes a necessity…….” She took his hand, “why are you asking me now Seth?”

"Of course for life Shon and if not now when?" He asked softly. "Not to mention I thought it would bring a smile to your face."

Her face broke into a smile, “so if I have the choice of ‘now’ or ‘when’ I choose to say now, I will marry you Seth Travis for better or for worse. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you the moment you sat down in the observation lounge and now you give me that opportunity.” Her smile disappeared “what about children? my injuries may make it difficult for me to conceive but I would very much like to try sometime in the future, please?”

He hugged her tightly and kissed her passionately. "You have made me very happy Shon. We can try for children but I love you Shon not whether you can have children or not."

“I know my love, but sometimes in life things change. But since you came into my life I think very much about the future, not the past.” She picked up a sandwich and took a bite chewing thoughtfully. “Who will marry us do Starship Captains still do that? You will have to get used to Puss and he you although you already know how well an ear scratch goes down? Where will we live? So many questions.”

She stood and twirled around spinning until she became dizzy and collapsed on the sand laughing.

"He smiled at her, One thing at a time, We get married first and yes the Captain can do that. As to where we live, who has the bigger quarters?"

She growled and jumped on him, pushing him back onto the sand rubbing her body against his.”whoever has the biggest bed I think. I’m really not sure if you are up to all the lovemaking you will have to do. Maybe you need the practice?” Her pupils turned silver.

"Oh trust me Shon. I am definitely up to the love making. You need not worry about that. I have it under control." Seth said with a grin.

She moved slowly down his body licking and touching until he moaned. “I love you” she breathed.

He raised her head so their eyes could meet. "I love you Shon." He whispered passionately. "And I will for all time." They came together as she screamed out his name and fell across his chest. “For all time is my promise also my love” she said cuddling against him as they looked into the stars together for a while. “I want your child Seth” she said and shivered as the sweat on her body began to dry.

He kissed her again and again, "I want you to have our child Shon." he whispered as he massaged her back.

She reached over and pulled the sleeping bag over them. “I never knew how lonely I really was until I met you, now I am scared to be without you.”she caressed his face “I need to tell you something Risan women have premonitions the ones I have had over the years have always come true. There is a darkness coming to one of us on this next mission..” she hesitated” and it surrounds me Seth, that was why I wanted to give you everything I own as soon as possible.” Tears came to her eyes, “I have only just begun my life with you and now..now I am not sure.” She could no longer speak and laid her head on his chest and cried.

"Shon my love, my life. Nothing is going to happen to either of us. We will grow old together. Rid yourself of these dark thoughts and think of the joy we will have being together." he answered quietly as he held her close.

Her tears subsided slowly, “I do not want to spend another night alone, I want to be with you for as long as we have, can Puss and I move in with you tonight?”

"Of course you can Shon. Nothing would please me more." Seth answered happily. "This will be wonderful. Will Puss be alright in new quarters?"

She hugged him, her fears allayed for the moment. “Puss will be okay anywhere so long as he gets his food and a walk at night. He sleeps 16 hours a day but he has been my protector for many years now and he is also an adjunct to my meditation. I become unwell if I do not meditate each evening.” She settled down beside him, I matched the stars with the scans we took, even though they are only holo recreations they are still quite beautiful and, there are no huge bear monsters or deep water …whatever it was.”

"I'll be glad to walk him at night." Seth offered, "I think we get along well...at least I hope we do." He looked up at the stars.
"They are beautiful." He admitted, "However the brightest star isn't in the sky, She is seated right beside me."

“Thank you,” she said, “you remind me of a character in one of the books my grandfather read to me at night under the stars in Yellowstone. Tales Of King Arthur and The Knights of The Round Table. You are my knight in shining armour Seth, well a Star Fleet uniform anyway.” She laughed. “When shall we speak to Captain Shran?”

"if I am your knight then you are my Queen." Seth answered. "As for telling the Captain. I think in the next couple of days will be fine."

“The mission we are heading to…..we will be there within 24 hours so I will put in place my instructions that you are to receive everything in the case of my death prior to our marriage.”

"Shon, stop talking like that." Seth asked. "I don't like you talking like this." He told her. "It's morbid."

“No my love it is not morbid, it is real life and about provisioning for the one you love. I am unable to tell you about the coming mission but it is big, and dangerous. Remember I am currently the acting CMO of this ship. I know how you want to protect me but you cannot do do for every situation. I love you so very much and need you to know that.”

He shook his head, "Shon. I know you love me just as you know I love you. I'm not blind you know." He joked half seriously. As for protecting you, I'll give it my best shot, I promise you that."

“There is something else I have to tell you, something awful from my past…..I….I cannot cook!” She threw back her head and laughed.

Seth stared at her for several seconds before he threw his head back and joined in the laughter. "That's okay Shon. I can cook for the both of us."

She was relieved at that, she lay back in his arms covered with their blanket. “I will always love these stars, maybe we could spend our honeymoon back on Mizu when all this is over, track those beasts, see how that baby has grown, see what was swimming below that dark water in the lake!?” She waited for Seth to take in what she just suggested.

"We can do that." Seth replied not wishing to deny Shon anything. But we go back better prepared. No, getting taken by surprise like we were last time."

She put her arm round his broad chest. “I am surprised you did not blow that one out of the water Mizo is not really a honeymoon destination. Where would you like to go? I am happy to go anywhere with you my love.”

"We can go to Mizu." Seth replied but if you don't want to then Risa is good."

“I just thought of Mizu because it means we are alone but Risa is a great place for a honeymoon, I want you to choose Seth it would please me greatly if you would?” She knew she might not make it there but it was good to imagine that she might.

"Okay I will but I'm going to think on it first." He told her, "Not going to rush my decision."

She snuggled, “mmm that makes me happy, I do not have much to bring to your quarters so I a while I will go get it and Puss. I’d like to stay here for a while, just the two of us under the stars, unless you have to go…in fact I am not even sure what your post entails tell me what you do?”

"I want you to always be happy Shon and as far as what I do, I try to keep the peace. Settle disputes, be an impartial voice in those disputes. Make treaties, even do some trade negotiations."

“Sounds interesting, have you ever been in danger with the things you do?”

"In danger? I guess so Shon. There's always an element of danger when you are trying to keep two warring factions from wiping each other out." he shrugged. "It comes with the job."

“I would be interested to be with you the next time you are involved, if I can?” She asked. She looked up at the stars. “I love you forever Seth Travis…I think Doctor Travis has a nice ring to it don’t you?”

"Sure you can Shon, not a problem." Seth replied. "I love you forever Shoniara T'ghann Dex and yes Dr. Travis has a wonderful ring to it."

Before we have to go do you think you are rested enough to try to make a baby?” She grinned at him with such love in her eyes.

Seth chuckled, "Me? I was about to ask you if were rested." he bantered back playfully.

She laughed softly, “remember I am half Risan, my love I am always ready so you may begin to tire of my desires pretty quickly.”

"I can assure you Shon that will never happen." Seth replied with a grin.

“Well perhaps we should get started!” She turned to him her pupils silver.
