Mission: Jupiter Mystery
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Morning after the briefing

{ON}

Callie had woken early yet again, she was finding morning sickness particularly troublesome but had been trying to muddle on through. This morning was her six week check up with Dex, she offered a somewhat washed out smile as she greeted Jon.

“Good morning, I didn’t wake you did I?”

"Nope." Jon said with a grin. "Your morning sickness has become part of our morning routine. Other than your morning sickness, how are you feeling?"

“Besides the morning sickness routine, I feel fine.” Callie offered a smile. “I’m excited to see our baby today. I’d like to know what we’re having, that’s if you want to?”

Jon nodded happily, "I sure do want to know Callie. Will help with deciding on what we need and how to decorate."

Callie smiled warmly. “Great! Just give me a few minutes and I’ll be ready to go. Do we have someone to look after Harry while we’re gone?”

"Yep. Mrs. Donaldson, said she would watch Harry, he could play with her sons." Jon replied.

“Remind me to thank her later” Callie smiled warmly.


~ Sickbay ~

“Good morning you two, here for the great reveal?” She asked patting the bio bed, sensor at the ready. “She took one look at Callie’s face “morning sickness huh?”

Callie nodded. “Very much so, I’ve been up early most mornings. Once I start to stir I feel so bad I have to get up, doesn’t matter if it’s minutes or hours early.” She stifled a yawn. “I’m so tired!”

“ well you’ll be glad to know the infusions have finished so no more coming here every morning. I could give you something for the morning sickness but I am loath to do so. Have you tried peppermint tea? I hear it is very helpful.” She began the scan of Callie’s abdomen..humming softly to herself. “Jon did you speak to Seth?”

Jon looked at his friend and in a perfectly confused expression, replied "Seth? Seth who?

Shon look at him with murder and laughter in her eyes. Do you want to know the sex of this baby Commander Grayson?”
She ruined it by laughing.

Well, Have you picked out any girls names?” She smiled and snapped her sensor shut.

“A girl? We’re having a girl ..” Callie looked at Jon excitedly.

Jon grinned foolishly. "A girl! That is wonderful news. Harry can be a big brother to her." He reached a hand out and squeezed Callie's softly. "A girl." He repeated the smile still on his face as he soaked up the news.

Callie looked at Dex a million questions in mind. “Is she okay? Is she healthy?”

Dex hugged Callie, “yes she is absolutely fine in every aspect, no way to tell you what she will look like until she emerges but it is a safe bet to say she will be beautiful.” Dex smiled. “Now, no more infusions, the sickness should wear off, try the peppermint tea.
I would prefer you do not do any violent exercise and that means Gentle lovemaking only. You are relaxed to full duty but if you notice any leg swelling come and see me. I will perform another scan in three weeks. Any questions you two?”

“The thought of lovemaking was music to Callie’s ears, she and Jon has been avoiding it up until now. She smiled as she looked at Jon then back at Dex. “No questions, and I’ll try the tea that’s a promise.”

Jon was on cloud nine at the thought of he and Callie being parents to a little girl. Now they would have to sit down, go through girl names and decide on one. However right now, he wanted to take Callie back to their quarters and make slow, passionate love to her.

"Can I have a copy of the latest scan please Dex?" Callie smiled. "I want to keep it as a souvenir."

“Of course you can” she said replicating an immediate copy. “Nothing to really see as regards arms and legs yet but see those little buds? There, and there, those are the beginnings of them. Maybe your next scan will show more.” She gave the copy to Callie.

"A girl." Jon repeated blissfully. "Now we have to find a name."

Callie nodded. “I’m sure we’ll come up with something, we’ve got plenty of time.”

"Oh, I know we will Callie." Jon answered. "I'm just looking forward to it." Jon replied with a grin.

“Indeed” Callie nodded and smiled. “Thanks again Shon.”

"Amen to that, couldn't agress more. Thanks Shon for the wonderful news." Jon added.
