Complications and Solutions

Mission:
A Trip to Middle Earth
Location: USS Washington
Celes worked with the engineering team to complete the repairs and implement her solution to the omicron particle problem. Her solution required them to tie in secondary buffers and redundant systems to filter out the particles, and they were tied into the ramscoop so they could be purged from the ship. They were working diligently to get everything prepared.
On the bridge Jon and Callie were doing their part. Jon was monitoring the systems and the progress Deanna and the engineers were making and Callie was doing her best to monitor the captain's team trapped in the holodeck and any feelings of danger and distress. He tapped his combadge, "How's it coming Deanna?"
=^=Nearly ready. Just need to polarize two more buffers and finish the connections between here and the nacelles.=^=
"Good Deanna, when you're ready, return to the bridge so you can monitor the situation from up here." Jon replied. He wanted the captain and the others out of the holodeck and he wanted them out now! But he also wanted them out safely and wasn't going to do anything to jeopardize the team.
Callie was sitting quietly until she suddenly looked towards Jon. “Commander, I think the Captain and crew in the holodeck have sustained injuries and need help. It’s almost like I caught a voice on the wind...” she could only guess someone had tried contacting help mentally. “I’m getting a sense of...Grave danger!”
"Okay, stay focused Callie and continue to monitor the captain's team." Jon answered as he tapped his combadge, "Deanna. Callie got an impression the the captain and the others are in danger. How much longer before we can try another rescue attempt?"
Deanna heard the news and the question and immediately allowed her mind to open up, reaching out to the captain. She could hear his thoughts, the nervousness and a sense of danger. She returned to the work at hand. =^=We are nearly ready. Within the hour.=^= She felt anxiety wash over her, a need to work even faster.
Callie shook her head. “Whoever it was, I'm not getting any further sense from them. It would take too much out of me to try to re-establish a connection.”
Jon nodded, "No don't endanger yourself or the baby Callie. Continue to monitor the team. We'll be ready with another rescue attempt shortly." Jon replied.
Callie nodded and offered a reassuring smile. “I’ll do what I can within safe limits.”
"Thank you, Callie. I don't want to be worried about you more than necessary." Jon replied with a smile of his own.
Deanna looked over the work. Everything was complete. She hit her combadge, =^=Jon, we are ready. On my way back to the bridge.=^=
=^= Fantastic Deanna. We'll await your presence on the bridge, so we can get the captain and the others out of the holodeck." Jon replied crisply.
A minutes passed before the turbolift doors opened and Celes stepped out onto the bridge, making her way to her station. She took note of an unfamiliar person at tactical. She was used to seeing Ayana there, but then she couldn't be because she was in the holodeck. Deanna looked to Jon, "I suggest us beaming everyone on the holodecks directly to sickbay. The nurse staff will have to make due with just Dr. Perim assuming Sam and Shon are incapacitated upon transport. We can't risk having them activate the EMH until we've purged the omicron particles from the holoemitters in sickbay. We might have security send anyone with medic training to lend a hand."
"Makes sense Deanna. Does Dr. Perim and the nurses know not to activate the EMH?" Jon's opinion of Perim wasn't the greatest but he hoped the man had basic common sense not to endanger the people being transported into Sickbay. "As for security, they all have basic medical training." He replied as he tapped his combadge, "Security, this is Commander Grayson, send two security officers to Sickbay to help the medical staff with incoming crew members from the holodeck.'
Callie looked towards her husband. “Do you want me to go to Sickbay and help?”
"Sickbay is aware that the EMH is offline. If this isn't a reason for StarFleet to fulfill Sam's request for additional medical staff, I don't know what will." She smiled as she sat down at Ops and made her preparations for the extraction.
"Stay here and monitor Callie. If the medical staff needs more help than you can go and lend a hand." Jon answered his wife.
Callie nodded and smiled. “Yes, Sir.”
