Mission:
Unknown Colony
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: 0700 hrs
Callie had awoken to find Jon already gone, checking with the computer it seemed he wasn’t aboard ship. No doubt he’d gone off with an away team. Heading to Sickbay she wanted to check in with Shon, to see if she knew what was going on.
Arriving at Sickbay Callie smiled as she saw Shon. “Good Morning Shon.”
Shon looked up from staring into her coffee. Oh, hello Callie” she said what’s wrong?”
“Absolutely nothing!” Callie grinned. “Everything is just fine, I feel better than I have of late. Just goes to prove what a difference a good night’s sleep has. I don’t suppose you know what’s going on? Jon is off ship, I can only guess he’s off with an away team.”
“Now why would I know anything Callie” she said, “I’m just stuck in here, don’t get me wrong I love medicine it’s what I do best but,” she sipped her cold coffee. “I still dream about what happened and don’t know where I stand with staying in Starfleet. I can’t speak to Seth about it, I don’t want to worry him or Shasta and it seems I am just playing a part. Oh my friend what can I do?”
“Only you know that Shon” Callie offered an understanding gaze. “I don’t like what happened either, but in the end Maddison would have destroyed this ship if he could. Deanna showed me, the only person he cared about was her, and one of my twins. He would have killed me if he’d had the chance.” She sighed. “Call me selfish but I don’t want you to leave, I want you here when these two are born.”
“What about my family Callie? I worry every day that bitch will return for Shasta. Maybe if we left the ship she would not know where to find us…..” Shon gave a deep sob. Callie you should go, I’m not good to be with right now.”
Callie shook her head. “I’m not going anywhere Shon, you’re my friend, and the only other person who knows what it’s like to be carrying twins around!” She grinned. “We mum’s have to stick together, no matter what.”
Shon smiled grimly, “yes Callie we do. Thing is I like to know what is going on and be a part of it, I like to be busy.”
Callie nodded. “You and me both, but I agreed to abide by Jon’s decision on away team duties. If he deemed whatever this is too much risk for me, then I’ll accept it. No doubt we’ll find out what’s going on soon enough.” She paused. “From what I’m sensing we must be orbiting a planet with a population.”
“Well as far as I know it’s not a diplomatic mission, or at least Seth has not been contacted. To be honest he is beginning to wonder if we will ever get a mission where his skills will be called upon.”
“I’m sure he will Shon, Diplomats are important when dealing with any culture. Does he have a secondary area that would give him something to do when his diplomacy skills aren’t needed?”
Shran was in the cargo bay having discussed with Celes the initial scan results from debris they had brought aboard. "Computer, locate counselor Grayson."
"The counselor is in sickbay" replied the computer.
He considered what might be going on, then decided it was worth contacting her. He hit his comm badge, =^=Shran to Callie. =^=
Callie looked at Shon then tapped her comm badge. =^= Callie here Sir. =^=
=^=Counselor, I require you to go to the bridge and take command. You'll be the only senior officer on the bridge. =^=
=^= “Me? Sir? =^= Callie was shocked by that one, but having taken her bridge officer’s test she was qualified to command. =^= Yes Sir, I’ll head there now. =^=
=^=Gamma shift is still on duty, and a young ensign was left in command. Have them begin scanning the system for vessels or anything else out of the ordinary. I'll return to the bridge to relieve you shortly.=^=
Nodding to Shon Callie headed on her way. This was going to be an interesting experience.
