Jon was in his quarters relaxing by reading a book. His quarters had become his self imposed isolation booth as he rarely left them except to go to Sickbay where Samantha would check his recovery from surgery. Once she was done he would retreat back to his quarters. Even his sessions with Essie were held in his quarters. His confidence both in himself and what the crew thought of him had been shaken severely. Hence his holding up in his quarters.

However that all changed with the call for Senior Officers to report. It seemed his isolation was over. He rose from the couch and changed into his uniform. Once done, he gave a last look at his quarters and headed out. The unknown which had once seemed so inviting and full of promise called to him only now he viewed it with much less enthusiasm and much more skepticism.
