Rescue Party

Mission: The Orion Syndicate
Location: USS Washington

Shran entered the conference room with Seth and found Ayana and Celes waiting. "Glad your mission went well Ayana."

"Thank you sir" she replied.

Celes sighed. "Not to be the one that rains on the parade, but it would appear Cmdr Grayson and his team may have been captured. The comm signal is still open, and it appears the Syndicate ambushed them and is taking them to a Syndicate instillation. Scans indicate they have left the city and are making their way towards Mt. Navaar, which happens to be the largest mountain on the planet and is filled with cormaline deposits, making transport impossible."

"That's the mountain Shon saw in her dreams, where some Orion secret weapon is hidden." Seth spoke up from where he was standing and had been listening to the conversation.

"That is the belief, and it appears to be accurate thus far" said Shran. "She also seemed to think the Toral's ship had something to do with us being shot down. Now that we have him and his vessel, that takes him out of the equation. We have already made a change to any future she saw. That said, the fact she knew where our people would be taken is a step in the right direction, and I'll take that intel."

"Captain, we have to send down a second away team to get our people back" said Ayana. "I'd like to volunteer to lead that team."

Shran smirked. "I figured you would Ayana. You will need at least 7 others with you that are tactically proficient. Lt Travis, I believe you have a need to be on this team, agreed?"

Seth nodded, "I do Captain." He answered simply.

"I'd like to go with them captain" chimed Celes. "I think Lt Kato would be a good choice for this as well. She has shown an ability to handle herself in these sorts of combat situations. I also think if she is available we should bring Dr. Howard. We could use a medical officer and she has plenty of experience under fire if and when it comes to it."

Shran nodded. Sounds like the rescue team is rounding itself out fairly quickly. I think Ayana can put together the rest of the team from her security personnel. We'll transport you down as close as possible. We'll move the Washington closer to the planet and if we need to bring the ship into the atmosphere, I'll engage the armor. That is a special surprise that they can't be prepared for. Even the Borg are unable to penetrate it."

Seth spoke up, "We'll get the other away team back and destroy the weapon Shon saw in her dreams." He assured the captain.

Shran hit his comm badge, =^=Shran to Howard. Doctor, I'm taking you up on your offer to join the away team. Join Ayana and the others in transporter room two for a rescue operation.=^=

Celes made her way out and onto the bridge. "Aiko, you are coming with us. Grab a phaser."

"Aye Sir" Dr Howard replied from sickbay, giving Dr Perrin a very brief handover and clearing Dex for light duties that wouldn't overly stress her mind or her body whilst allowing her back to her job. Sam quickly shucked off her medical coat and grabbed her larger medkit, slinging over her shoulder and grabbing a phaser and tricorder for her belt. With a quick not she headed off to the transporter room.

Shran looked at Seth and Ayana, "Be safe, but get our people back and remind the Syndicate that they are no longer the power they think they are."

"They'll regret tangling with us" replied Ayana.

"It will be a lesson they will never forget." Seth added.

"Good hunting" replied Shran as he accompanied them out of the conference room and onto the bridge.
