Protecting History

Mission: Living History
Deanna worked next to T'Plana as they studied the technology they had retrieved from the SpaceX facility. The future tech had not only advanced the space race, it had also advanced the military issues moving faster than they were supposed to. Deanna had the computer monitoring military matters and searching for historical figures, most notably Col. Greene, who was once of the main catalysts for the third world war on Earth, while T'Plana was getting more information about the actual military units locations and how deep the technology control had imbedded.
T’Plana finally looked up from her work “Commander Celes, there is an indication that the technology has invaded the industrial military technology of this era. The nation states of China and Russia both have acquired supersonic missile technology far faster than they should have. The nation states of the United States of America, China, and Russia should have all acquired said technology within one month of each other, yet the United States is lagging. There is an indication that the technology for such weapons was ‘leaked’ to the respective nation states, while the United States was hindered in its development.” Here she paused before continuing. “Furthermore, there is currently a conflict in the nation state known as the Ukraine with the nation state of Russia, our historical records never mentioned this. The current war seems to be a proxy war being fought by Russia and the Earth organization known as NATO; with all of it being started by false information sent to Russian government officials detailing false information on its capabilities of overrunning the Ukrainian nation state. This false flag information originated from this system here, “ T’Plana indicated the tech she was looking at “I can cite several other irregularities with the time line and military actions, but I believe the damage has been done.”
Deanna was concerned at learning this. "We can't actively remove the technology from these nations at this point, nor can we intervene with the military conflicts. We need to report these findings to the captain. He may have orders based on this information." She stepped away from the workstation she was at, "I have determined that the space advancements can be limited at this point once your virus is activated. It won't completely clean up the contamination to the timeline, but it is the most we can do without risking further harm. I only hope Cmdr Grayson's team is able to locate the operative at NASA before a comparable breach occurs."
Sam and Ayana entered the shuttle. They seemed in good spirits and had bags in hand. Deanna smiled, "It appears you enjoyed your excursion."
Ayana looked bright-eyed as she looked to Deanna. "I have a surprise for you. We ran into someone. We avoided causing any sort of incident with him, but Sam did scan him to confirm. It was Admiral Carroll's direct ancestor from this time. He looks just like the admiral. He was at the mall with his children." She placed her bags down and walked over to show the data on the phone to Deanna.
Deanna looked at the scan data, jealous of them both for having such a chance meeting. The admiral had been a great mentor for her. The scan data had been conclusive, but they took a picture as well, and looking at it the resemblance was uncanny. "You'll have to show this to the captain when we return to the ship. He'll be quite jealous. I know I am."
"Got it right here" Sam tapped her tricorder masquerading as a mobile phone in he hip pocket. "So you guys have made some progress? Good to see, let's see if we can get in contact with the Captain and fill him in" She tapped her communicator and waited to see if the Captain was available.
"We have some military data to pass along that is troubling" Deanna said solemnly.
"That doesn't sound encouraging" Sam popped her bag down and headed over to where Deanna was. She frowned as she read the information for herself. This indeed was troubling. With things progressing faster than they should and in the wrong order the powers of the planet could be destabilized. "We need to tell the Captain"
Ayana looked over the data collect. "But this would change what might start the war. The factions haven't even formed yet."
"They may not need the factions at this point. In fact, I fear they won't need the factions at all. I was searching for Col. Green and his paramilitary ecoterrorist group but have yet to find it. I have located multiple other groups that seem to have filled that void however." Deanna pulled up information, "A massive propaganda campaign has begun in which they are being told the world will be destroyed if they don't immediately end the use of fossil fuels, which is mostly harming the advancement of the Americans and their allies while the other dangerous powers, specifically Russia and China continue to function and advance without issue. I estimate that we are soon to reach a tipping point that will radically alter history."
T’Plana listened to what was being said and added “You also have the political disruption of the United States, the de facto strongest representative democracy, one of the models used to create the United Federation of Planets on. Groups, both domestic to the United States, and foreign are spreading disinformation on the election process and legitimacy of said governments. In fact two of the elected Presidents of the United States; were never elected in our timeframe.”
Ayana looked at the data T'Plana had. "Trump was an economist and real estate mogul, but he appears to have become President. Biden followed him, and neither was ever meant to be President. The President should be Cruz, who would be the first Hispanic President of the US, and he would be followed by Abbott, who would be President when the global conflict begins. Instead, Cruz is in the Senate still, and Abbott remains the Governor of Texas." She looked at more of the data, "T'Plana this can't be correct. "Xi Jinping shouldn't be the head of the Chinese government."
Deanna looked to Sam, "We have all kinds of temporal inconsistencies that we will need to report to the captain. We can't do much regarding most of them."
"Perhaps the other team have uncovered something that may be of assistance in that regard" Sam mused as she pressed her hidden communicator and called the Washington.
=^=How goes it Sam?=^= Shran replied.
"Got good news and not so good news. The good news is we have our temporal agent, the bad news is the temporal damage seems to be significant in both the political and military areas PlanetSide" Sam advised, eyeing their charge who was still unconscious.
=^=Interesting, and disturbing. I agree that we don't have a way to correct much of those temporal changes. Have you eliminated all traces from the SpaceX facility?=^=
=^=T'Plana is currently monitoring the virus. I estimate a full purge within a few minutes=^= Celes reported.
=^=Sam, I think it might be best for you and your team to link up with Jon's team, give him additional support, and if necessary, hasten any clean up.=^=
"Yes Sir, we'll contact them and get over to their location as quick as we can. Did you want us to beam the temporal agent up to the Washington?* She asked the Captain.
=^=We'll arrange to transport him in an hour so as to avoid detection by the various satellites, telescopes, and other space based facilities. Arrange to meet up with Jon. =^=
